@inproceedings{Ramirez2021ComputableCF, title={Computable criteria for ballisticity of random walks in elliptic random environment}, author={Alejandro F. Ram'irez and Rodrigo Ribeiro}, year={2021} }

We consider random walks in i.i.d. elliptic random environments which are not uniformly elliptic. We introduce a computable condition in dimension d = 2 and a general condition valid for dimensions d ≥ 2 expressed in terms of the exit time from a box, which ensure that local trapping would not inhibit a ballistic behavior of the random walk. An important technical innovation related to our computable condition, is the introduction of a geometrical point of view to classify the way in which the… Expand

Ellipticity criteria for ballistic behavior of random walks in random environment

- Mathematics
- 2012

We introduce ellipticity criteria for random walks in i.i.d. random environments under which we can extend the ballisticity conditions of Sznitman and the polynomial effective criteria of Berger,… Expand

Sharp ellipticity conditions for ballistic behavior of random walks in random environment

- Mathematics

We sharpen the ellipticity criteria for random walks in i.i.d. random environments introduced by Campos and Ramirez which ensure ballistic behavior. Furthermore, we construct new examples of random… Expand

Abstract We investigate multi-dimensional random walks in random environment. Specifically, we provide an effective criterion which can be checked by inspection of the environment in a finite box,… Expand

Effective Polynomial Ballisticity Conditions for Random Walk in Random Environment

- Mathematics
- 2012

The conditions (T)γ, γ ∊ (0,1), which were introduced by Sznitman in 2002, have had a significant impact on research in random walk in a random environment. Among others, these conditions entail a… Expand

We introduce in this article a class of transient random walks in a random environment on Z d . When d ≥ 2, these walks are ballistic and we derive a law of large numbers, a central limit theorem and… Expand

We give a new criterion for ballistic behavior of random walks in random environments which are low disorder perturbations of the simple symmetric random walk on $\mathbb{Z}^d$, for $d\geq 2$. This… Expand

Reversed Dirichlet environment and directional transience of random walks in Dirichlet random environment

- Mathematics

We consider random walks in a random environment that is given by i.i.d. Dirichlet distributions at each vertex of Z^d or, equivalently, oriented edge reinforced random walks on Z^d. The parameters… Expand

We consider a random walk in a uniformly elliptic i.i.d. random environment in $\mathbb Z^d$ for $d\ge 2$. It is believed that whenever the random walk is transient in a given direction it is… Expand
