Yep. Overwrite the images using FTP.

Themes/Orangeline/images/off.gif  and  Themes/Orangeline/images/on.gif

Just pick the images you want, call them on.gif and off.gif, then overwrite the existing ones.

Hiya :)
you can change the width in the Style.css, just look for the: #wrapper { width: 980px; or 100%; }

Ok, just kidding, I actually have one more question which my members have been bothering me about xD  (We all love this theme though,I think all the questions prove that :P)

I'm trying to make the corners transparent, but the background gets in the way and it looks like this (top right corner, the left one is where I just recoloured the corner)

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg365.imageshack.us%2Fimg365%2F3882%2Ftestotshowoj0.png&hash=bb4cbfe370506c1f012f6474d7ddc124f86bbe82)

This is the code I have

#header {
    position: relative;
    height: 132px;
    overflow: hidden;
    background: #f2f2f2 url(images/img/h-bg.png) 0 0 repeat-x;
}
#head-r {
    height: 132px;
    background: url(http://tmohost.com/espacePrive/cruleworld/h-r.png) 100% 0 no-repeat;
}
#head-l {
    background: url(http://img394.imageshack.us/img394/5152/hlpt6.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
}

When I change the f2f2f2 to transparent, it comes out like this

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg205.imageshack.us%2Fimg205%2F1145%2Ftestsho22ja3.png&hash=9bf90db2afb13526bfa0d98bc659bc0716edca88)

Do you know of any way to fix this?

Thank you so much for your help!

Hiya Crip.
First...it´s absolutely cool and elegant theme. Thanks a lot!!!
But I have a small problem.

If I use full window, everything is OK. But if I use smaller window, or lower resolution, the last part of menu (only "logout") is move. I try it in IE7 and Mozilla.

Normal window:

Small window:

Do you know where is a broblem? Thanks a lot for your help

I love the look of this theme.. I am integrating into my osCommerce site and it mtches my design almost perfectly. The only problem is I can't get it to work. I am using SMF v 1.1.7. I've downloaded the package twice.. used ftp to put it on my site, and then installed it from the admin area. It says it installed sucessfully, but when I choose it the forum converts to one that looks like it has no style sheet. I don't get an errors and I've tried resetting with no success. I noticed that it was missing man files that the other themes have, BoardIndexTemplate, DisplayTemplate, .. basically all the template files except index.template.php. Are those files interchangeable from other themes? (I did try that already but it didn't work). I'm not sure what to do next.

Thanks in advance for help.

Title: Re: Orangeline
Post by: uncommonhound on November 17, 2008, 10:00:21 PM
yes I saw that.. Thanks for your reply, but it doesn't work for me. I just get a generic board with no style. All the other  themes I've tried work right away... Perhaps it's because I have modified the directories in setting.php to have the forum embedded into osCommerce, and it can't find the source files correctly? I have to code from index.php outside of the forum folder as part of an OSC  page, forum.php. (If that's why I know that's not your problem to fix)... For now I'm using Orange-lt116v1 I'm still having some redirect issues so when I get those resolved I'll try this theme again.

Remove these lines of code for NO Messages / PM

      // Only tell them about their messages if they can read their messages!
      if ($context['allow_pm'])
         echo $txt[152], ' <a href="', $scripturl, '?action=pm">', $context['user']['messages'], ' ', $context['user']['messages'] != 1 ? $txt[153] : $txt[471], '</a>', $txt['newmessages4'], ' ', $context['user']['unread_messages'], ' ', $context['user']['unread_messages'] == 1 ? $txt['newmessages0'] : $txt['newmessages1'] , '.<br />';

The Hey, is default Javscript  code , Welcome [user] you'd need to add modification's (ThemeStrings) to change that..

Post by: robinrobin on February 10, 2009, 11:11:26 AM

Now have a copyright warning message splashed all over the bottom of each page saying copyright is missing!

Hello Crip,

Thanks for another excellent theme. Simple, elegant, distinct. Well done!

As another user reported in the first page of the thread, there's a small problem with the quote boxes. Look at this:

(https://www.simplemachines.org/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg21.imageshack.us%2Fimg21%2F7974%2Fcaptureq.th.png&hash=68b8a5e34d70fc8fdeb2eee77b02a09b27a12eac) (http://img21.imageshack.us/my.php?image=captureq.png)

The only thing I've changed is the forum's width to 95% instead of 1000px, but I don't think that would break that?

I found how to eliminate the scroll bar:

Quote

/* The "Quote:" and "Code:" header parts... */
.quoteheader, .codeheader
{
   background: #fcfcfc;
   color: #333333;
   padding: 5px;
   text-decoration: none;
   font-style: normal;
   font-weight: bold;
   font-size: x-small;
   line-height: 1.2em;
   width: 90%;
}

Width was 100%, I put it within the percentage I have for the entire forum, now it's fine. But the box containing the actual quote is wider that the box containing the quote header. My html has, in the output:

<div class="inner"><div class="quoteheader">
blahblahblah

So I set the quoteheader to a modest 85%, but I can't find any 'inner' section to touch... Hmmmm!

SOLVED (almost): add a "width" element to "blockquote". But even though I have both blockquote and quoteheader set to 80%, blockquote appears slightly shorter... Hmmmm (bis)

And another (final?!) question: take a look at http://www.cpcwiki.com/forum/index.php?action=post;topic=107.0 , the message summary doesn't look too good and the messages are not very well distinguished from one another. Where do these setting lie?

Thanks once more...
Title: Re: Orangeline
Post by: Crip on March 11, 2009, 08:10:38 AM
Add this bit in your Blockquote, it makes a difference ....

/* A quote, perhaps from another post. */
blockquote
{
       display: block;       <========
       color: #000000;
background-color: #E7F3FF;
margin: 1px;
padding: 1px;
font-size: x-small;
line-height: 1.4em;
width: 80%
}

========> display: block;

Ahhh you're the man :D I didn't know that 2.0 also changed the way things are rendered, but in any case such issues are a small price to pay for beautiful skins...

I have another bug for you: look at how code boxes are rendered! Instead of putting a single box around all the lines, it puts a box around each line's text, and the result is awful... I'm looking at css and can't understand how to fix it myself...

I installed the wonderful Orange Line theme, but the menu bar only shows "Search" and "My Messages", and all the others are missing. Also in the search area, the search button does not show any text. I cannot attach screen shots here.

BTW, the same thing happens to your latest HeadLine theme and it never happened in HeadLine beta version.

Hey Crip..  Love the theme..

Do you have a way to do the dropdown list for this theme?  I have too many buttons and need the sub-buttons that SMF includes in the code by default..  This site here uses it as well..

I used the BK-SMF Dropdown Menu mod and it returned this:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/automot5/public_html/lxnation/Themes/Orangeline20rc1/index.template.php on line 552

That leads to the ?> but if I change it back to the default, it works just fine..

In the file "index.template.php" the search button is "hardcoded" in line 407.

It is

if ($context['allow_search'])
                                                echo '<li><a' , $current_action=='search' ? ' class="chosen"' : '' , ' href="', $scripturl, '?action=search"><b>Search</b></a></li>';

Instead of

if ($context['allow_search'])
                                                echo '<li><a' , $current_action=='search' ? ' class="chosen"' : '' , ' href="', $scripturl, '?action=search"><b>' , $txt[182] , '</b></a></li>';

Sorry if this is a stupid question (I'm a bit new at this), but how would I go about changing the forum width? I assume I edit something in the index.css file, but after a while of searching, I couldn't for the life of me see what.

By the way, congrats on the awesome theme, definitely one of the best curve themes here!

Thanks,
Sean

Hello,

Thank you for an excellent theme! I have have two problems with it, one was solved by reading this thread - namely the Search button did not get translated. So this is fixed. But I have the forum in Polish and one thing that is not displayed in Polish are the values in the dropdown list for Message icon. Please see the attached image. I am not sure what to do to get it display Polish values. Can you help? Thank you!

Hello - thank you for your answer. This seems to be a problem with correct display of the translated terms. They are translated, take a look:
$txt['manual_posting_standard_icon'] = 'Standardowa';
$txt['manual_posting_thumb_up_icon'] = 'Dobrze';
$txt['manual_posting_thumb_down_icon'] = 'Źle';
$txt['manual_posting_exc_pt_icon'] = 'Ikona wykrzyknika';
$txt['manual_posting_q_mark_icon'] = 'Znak zapytania';
$txt['manual_posting_lamp_icon'] = 'Żarówka';
$txt['manual_posting_smiley_icon'] = 'Uśmiech';
$txt['manual_posting_angry_icon'] = 'Zły';
$txt['manual_posting_cheesy_icon'] = 'Chichot';
$txt['manual_posting_grin_icon'] = 'Szeroki uśmiech';
$txt['manual_posting_sad_icon'] = 'Smutny';
$txt['manual_posting_wink_icon'] = 'Mrugnięcie';

But they are not displayed. Similar issue was with the Search button at the top. Once I implemented the change, the translation for Seach is now properly displayed. Does this help?

Thank you!

Thanks but that is not the point. I am not expecting you to translate :) I think I know what I did wrong. I installed SMF without first making sure that the appropriate language files were in place. Because of that I have this problem. So it is not your fault. I was only wondering what to do (how to rectify it). Thanks!

Hey all.

Just started using this theme and am trying to customize it.

Two questions:
1.  How can I expand the header so it shows the avatar when a user logs in?  It isn't showing the date/time or the avatar?

2.  When using Aeva Media, what's the best way to create the menu button for it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I think I figured out the Aeva button issue, but can't get the avatar in the header / profile signature thing.  Whatever you wanna call it.

I upgraded to SMF 2.0 and used the Orangeline theme.

I substituted our logo, moved it to the right, and moved #my-avatar and #userarea to the right.

Everything looks good but News is not showing up; probably being hidden by the Logo.
How would I, in the #news section of index.css, force the news to go under the logo and above the menu buttons?

Problem: Forum Logo covering news.

In #news, the default is 'position: absolute;'       Does that stay the same?

For top, the default is 'top: 9em;' if I understand you, you're saying to change that line, trying maybe 11em, 13em, etc. until I see the text?

BTW, is there a maximum height and width for a forum logo that should not be exceeded?

I want to be able to increase the page width to fit more buttons on the main menu.

Before SMF 2, this code used to be in style.css

#wrapper {
    width: 82%;
    min-width: 720px;
    margin: 0 auto;
    padding: 0;

I don't see #wrapper with a width:   section in index.css
I only see div#wrapper  with no width below it (only margin: 0 auto;)

For SMF 2.0, how do I set width to maximum in index.css ?

Also, if increasing the width to maximum still doesn't let all my buttons fit, can the width of the buttons themselves be reduced (to say 75% of current width)?

Ok, I found that by changing

div#wrapper
{
   margin: 0 auto;

to

div#wrapper
{

   margin: 0 auto;
   min-width: 1000px;
   max-width: 2300px;

in Orangeline's index.css gave me an almost full sized window. There is only a little border on each side. I still would like to know though if it is possible to reduce the width of the buttons themselves by a certain percentage (in Orangeline).
