Wikipedia BBC 1.0.1
Author:
Masterd
Wikipedia BBC adds a powerful BBC wich allows you to search through the Wikipedia knowledge base. It's very simple to use. For example, if you want to search the database for "Simple Nachines Forum" then it will look like this:
[wiki]Simple Machnes Forum[/wiki]
This mod uses the integration hooks, so it won't make any changes to SMF's core files.
Wikipedia BBC Language Pack is a pack of multiple languages in which this mod is avaliable.

Nice! I like searching Wikipedia :P
But.....does it have the option to change between initial servers?
Like, default is en.wikipedia.org, can you change it to nl.wikipedia.org with the Admin Panel?
It changes in WikiBBC.{your_lang}.php file.

:P
Would be a nice feature if it has.
Thanks, nice mod
Thanks for the translation, Bugo! :D I added it into the language pack.
Sweet Mod. These are the best - simple but very useful!
Thanks, xrunner! :D
Sweet mod.
Would this mod work with 2.0 RC3 if I emulate the install for RC5?
I have so many mods installed I'm trying to waiting 2.0 final to be released before going through the pain of all the reinstalling of the mods.
This mod is using integration hooks, so it won't work on SMF 2.0 RC3. But, it will work on SMF 2.0 RC4.

Thanks for the info.
Hello there.
I'm using RC2, but when I install this mod, an error in SQL syntax appears. Does this mod support RC2?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for a great mod, but I am here because of a problem, I just discovered with this mod installed the post preview function does not work on my forum. Please help me solve this problem its a great mod and I want to re-install it. I also un-installed the IMDB mod because it' the same thing and I had both installed but the problem went away when I un-installed the wiki.
SMF 2.0 RC5 -
Thank you.
German translate.
Thanks. I'll update it.
Had an HTTP header error when I went into my forums chat.
(Ajax chat integration).
Woulda been an ideal addition for the forum too.
:'(
I had also problems with that mod in relation to the AJAX Chat. I posted that here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=257973.msg3308521#msg3308521
curious that behaviour...

I musta missed it whoops.
Did ya manage to resolve the issue?
No, I didn't, don't know what causes that behaviour - this wiki mod is well designed - but - my users want the chat - so I am without that wiki-mod - unfortunately...
This mod is currently clear of all bugs. That's a fact, not a promotion if someone thinks about this sentence that way. It must have to do something with AJAX chat's code. Very unusual, especially with hooks. Hmmm.... ???
Masterd ya absolutely correct.
It is the Ajax Chat mod causing this.
Very unusual for a mod to do so specially the bbc related. ( I use your imdb one with no problems).
The error message is:
QuoteWarning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/xxxx/public_html/smf/Sources/Subs-WikiBBC.php:48) in /home/xxxx/public_html/xxx/chat/lib/class/AJAXChatHTTPHeader.php on line 41
Let me know if ya weant the file added. I have only installed this on my test forum so far.
It would be nice if you can give that file.
Here ya go bud.
It isn't the fault of the AJAX Chat file, as the error is in fact telling you. The error message says: output started at /home/xxxx/public_html/smf/Sources/Subs-WikiBBC.php:48
That's because Subs-WikiBBC.php has a space after the closing ?> which screws up the integration. Remove that space and it should work.
Hmm I had a look but think it needs an experts eye.
Which is why I took at look at it in the distribution of the package. After the closing ?> in the Subs-WikiBBC.php file is a space, remove that space and try it again.
Edit: Apologies for my annoying fingers.

Darn fingers are going on letters they shouldn't.
I'm telling you, it's there. Open it in a decent text editor, click on the end of that line (line 48) and you'll find that space right there.
I hold my hands up ( and leave the editing alone for the night).
OK so who is the scapegoat gonna be? :)
Well, seeing how it's a bug in the Wikipedia BBC mod, I'd say that's where fixing effort is required...

Same here. Interesting...
I'm seeing a space at the end too. ;)
Which editor are you using?
Whatever you've done - now it works - i installed first the new wiki mod, and then I installed the chat into my testforum (http://inti31.cwsurf.de/smf/index.php?topic=4.msg4#msg4) - now both are working...
So nice that now this little bug in that mod is fixed..

Thanks, good to know. I'm still waiting for Fossil's reply.
Someone waiting for me?
I use notepad ++
I found the space. The mod is now working as it should.

Look at the end of the post.
Still can't find any space. I'm also using Notepad++.
*shrug* It's definitely there. Try clicking on the last line to the far right of it, so the cursor will auto-go to the last character position on the line.

On the line of the ?> press delete a couple times.
Darn beaten to the post.
Stupid, stupid me. /me beats himeslf with Logitech VX Revolution mouse.
All the time I thought there was an empty space before <?. I removed that one today while I was searching for that seemingly cursed and invisible space.

Have discovered the cause of a conflict between two unrelated mods was this mod.

Do me a favour and read this thread through including the last time you had this exact same issue.

Will do.

Been a long time so memory needs a refresh ::)
Er ya don't mean the spaces after the ?> do you?
Yup. It's even in the exact same place if you look, line 48.
Boy do I feel daft.

Think I'll throw an egg at meself tomorrow.

Hello, thank you for the mod: I really like it.
It works perfectly on my forum.
I would like to
a) keep this mod
b) "clone" it to a new mod, that allows the exact same research, but in a wikia, not in wikipedia.
I am a newbie, and my programming skills are bad,
but I would like to know if you could help me.
I tried to modify your code, zip it, upload it ... and of course it does not work.
I was wondering if you could have a look, please, and tell me where I am wrong.
I would immensely appreciate it.
