Title: Migrating from com_forum (aka phpbb for mambo from Tim Online)
Post by: gabro on July 28, 2006, 05:51:54 AM
Hi SMFers  ;)
My setup is as follows:
Mambo 4.5.3h
phpbb component from Tim Online 1.2.4RC2.2 (www.joomlastuff.org)
So the forum is not the phpbb itself, but a version modified to integrate with mambo (is using mos_users)
This is NOT the same as having original phpbb in a wrapper.
1 year activity, that means 300 users, 40k messages.

I would like to migrate to SMF and mambo bridge.

Did anyone had a successful migration of such a system ? Can you write down the steps for migration ?

  Kind regards
  Gabriele

You should know to start that it won't be easy.  That component modifies the Mambo database table structure, so you will need to fix your database tables before the SMF bridge will work.
