Title: phpBB convertor for slightly modded phpBB 2.0.4?

I want to convert a slightly modded phpBB 1.0.4 to SMF using the phpBB converter at the downloads over here. Are there any known problems converting phpBB 2.0.4 to the latest SMF beta release? The download page says it runs well with phpBB 2.0.6 though, but I think upgrading phpBB will be a bit difficult. Or can I convert the modded board directly to SMF?

Why not try and find out?

It doesn't modify the phpBB install at all, so if it doesn't work you won't have to worry.

It should work... I converted a friend's phpBB with 20+ hacks on it and went well...

Is it true that certain characters are not supported in the user names at SMF? I found somewhere here that I should run a couple of queries to replace/remove spaces, quotes and commas... :-\

Yeah. SMF doesn't allow spaces, apostrophes/quotes, ampersands, commas and certain other characters in usernames. Check out this post:
