Title: Converting Themes?
Post by: kRisTen26 on November 01, 2006, 06:04:11 PM
Hello...

I was wondering if it is possible to convert phpbb themes to SMF themes.  If so, is there a tutorial I can find with instructions on how to do it?  I have an awesome Christmas theme from phpbb that I would really love to use on my new SMF forum.

Thanks!
K

I have this problem too. An awesome theme for phpbb. It's so well liked that even the amazing usability features etc. of SMF isn't enough to ween them off on it's own.

I'd need an uber good theme...or to be able to port the one we've got.

It is possible its been done many times before.

If the theme is not yours then you need the permission from the theme author.

If you dont know how you can always ask in

Help Wanted (Not SUpport) (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=50.0)

just say if its free or not and if you have the authors permission ( a few theme designers will want confirmation from the author) and anythinbg els eyou think will be useful

Thanks for your help sloop!

I got in touch with the author. He replied superfast and I now have permission to get the theme converted and release the converted version!

All that remains now is to post about it in the help section!
