Well. I'm good at "customizing" themes such as adding an already made skin to a forum and then making it completely different but im wanting to know not exactly how but what I should know to be able to create a proper skin. I know the skins are edited with PHP so im learning PHP(I'm not new to programming) and I also know that CSS is also used. If someone who is experienced in making skins, such as m3talc0re and panic(both my favorite skin developers) would reply on how they got started developing skins then that would be extremely helpful because I look up to both of you guys :).
P.S: The programming languages I know are C++, C#, Ruby, Python, VB6 and Java.
