Title: need help with joomlaboard
Post by: Vera on November 10, 2006, 04:29:22 AM
Hi,
I could really need some help. I've tried converting from my Joomlaboard forum (1.1.2 Stable) to my SMF forum 1.1 RC3. Since I didn't find any converter called Joomlaboard I downloaded the one called Simpleboard. It didn't work though, the converter couldn't find the settings for Simpleboard.

Therefore I followed an advice, that I received from another thread somewhere in this forum, that I should copy the configuration.php - file to the SMF-directory and write the path to this directory twice. Now the conversion worked but not perfectly. The posts were not converted and this it the most important thing to convert I think.

There was this message:

"This query:
INSERT INTO `vimammor_se`.smf_messages
(ID_MSG, ID_TOPIC, posterTime, SUBSTRING(m.subject, 1, 255), ID_MEMBER, posterName, posterEmail, posterIP, ID_BOARD, body, modifiedName, icon)...............................

Caused the error:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'SUBSTRING(m.subject, 1, 255), ID_MEMBER, posterName, posterEmail, posterIP, ID_B' at line 2".

AND I have another problem as well - the administration center has disappeared and doesn't show anymore when I log in as the admin.

Is there any way to fix this?? I don't know anything about My SQL...

Or is there a way to copy/convert the posts manually? If so I will simply try to uninstall everything and install it again. If not - I will have to satisfy with Joomlaboard...

best regards

Hi,
I read this tip in another forum. Do you think this could help? Of course I'd have to reinstall everything but I'm willing to give it another try:

"There is also a file in administrator/component/com_joomlaboard called joomlaboard_config.php.
What if you copy and rename this to simpleboard_config.php?"

hoping to get reply...  ;)

The SQL error is a bug in the converter. I'll look at that in a minute.

Hi,

Getting the same error for a simpleboard conversion. Did you have a change to look at it Oldiesmann?

Thnx,

Hi JayBachatero,

Thnx, worked like a charm. Have some errors on the avatars, but all messages are converted.

I will try it as soon as the possible, JayBachatero, and then get back to you.

Thank you!
It worked like a dream. I had no problem with the avatars...

One problem still remains though. The administrationcenter has disappeared and I can't administer the forum anymore   :(

Anyone got a great idea?
Title: Oh no!

Try this one.
The converter worked successfully for me, but all the messages got screwed up.  They all show up like this:
Quote[img width=][img width=]pray[img width=]that[img width=]you[img width=]hav[img width=][img width=]b[img width=][img width=]n[img width=]bl[img width=][img width=][img width=][img width=]d[img width=]dur[img width=]n[img width=][img width=]th[img width=][img width=][img width=]P[img width=]al[img width=][img width=][img width=]and[img width=]Prov[img width=]rb[img width=][img width=]d[img width=]vot[img width=]on.[img width=]For[img width=]tho[img width=][img width=][img width=]that[img width=]hav[img width=][img width=][img width=]tuck[img width=][img width=]t[img width=]out,[img width=]you[img width=]hav[img width=][img width=]now[img width=]cr[img width=]at[img width=]d[img width=]a[img width=]\"hab[img width=]t\"[img width=]of[img width=][img width=]p[img width=]nd[img width=]n[img width=][img width=]t[img width=][img width=][img width=][img width=]w[img width=]th[img width=][img width=]od[img width=][img width=]ach[img width=]and[img width=][img width=]v[img width=]ry[img width=]day.[img width=][img width=][img width=][img width=]ncoura[img width=][img width=][img width=]you[img width=]to[img width=]cont[img width=]nu[img width=][img width=]your[img width=]da[img width=]ly[img width=]qu[img width=]t[img width=][img width=]t[img width=][img width=][img width=][img width=]w[img width=]th[img width=]th[img width=][img width=]Lord.

Any ideas?

P.S. - Oh, and it assigned the group value of 0 to all users including the admin.   I had to go in via phpMyAdmin and change the group id on the admin account back to 1 so I could get into the admin interface.

I found an answer  ;D:

Change

$row['body'] = preg_replace('~[img size=(\d+)]~i', '[img width=$1]', $row['body']);

into

$row['body'] = preg_replace('~\[img size=(\d+)\]~i', '[img width=$1]', $row['body']);

Interesting.  I fix it locally and come to see that the answer was found :P.  SimpleBoard 1.0 & 1.1 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=145652)

thanks guys, this took care of it for me too. however, all the converted posts have backslashes (\) before all quotation marks and apostrophes. How can I fix that?

Try using the converter in this topic: SimpleBoard 1.0 & 1.1 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=145652).  Also did the admin account get transfered correctly?

I thought I did use that converter. The admin account was not transferred correctly in the first attempt which I made with the old converter from the DL section. For the second attempt with your new converter, I had to empty the message post tables first to redo them. I probably need to do the same for the user tables.

What are the steps for erasing the result of a bad conversion without dropping all tables and reinstalling smf?

Use the TRUNCATE table_name; to empty the table.  The converter alrady truncates the tables.

If you can give me access to phpMyAdmin I can take a look at it and fix that issue with the admin account.

right, I truncated the table with the message posts. Do I need to do that with the user tables too, or are you saying the converters does this itself? I fixed the admin account by changing the id/rank from 0 to 1. That seemed to do the trick, if I'm not missing anything. This is the first time I've seen the smf db structure...

Yea changing the ID_GROUP to 1 in SMF fixes it but I'm looking into having the account converted with the correct membergorup.

Jay, I tested again, and the converter and the sql file you recommended above do not properly remove the backslashes or transfer the administrator.

In regards to the administrator account I haven't been able to get a test install up to see how SimpleBoard handles the membergroups.  I'll look into the slashes stuff.
