Title: Invision to SMF help
Post by: tank5559 on November 21, 2006, 02:36:29 AM
SMF Version: SMF 1.0.8
Hey all!

I had a website about a year ago and started a good size community (500+) and i had to shut it down due to a lot of crap from my host. (domain related)

And now i want to start it again. Problem is, Invision is no longer free and have decided to use SMF. I dont have any installation of Invision, only a backup file of in .sql format. I would like to restore my old forums if possible.

I have a fully functionally SMF forum up and running. Ive tried using the invision converter, but it gives me a error on where the directory for the invision is located.

Is it possible to convert from a .sql file? Can someone please help me??
Thank You =) :)

You will need to import the sql file to the database where SMF is installed, then create a fake config file and stick it in the SMF directory so SMF can find the IPB data.
