Title: Mozilla chrashes and shuts down, when I try to edit posts
Post by: Arbeitsboerse24 on September 02, 2004, 01:29:46 PM
The Topic is said.
Every now and then, that happens.
In the near past it happens always.

Has anybody some oe at least one hint, where the error is sitting and lurking?

Thanks
Juergen

Please post your build, for example:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.2; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040614 Firefox/0.9

You should know that I and many people on this forum use Mozilla much more than Internet Explorer, though.....

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040803 Firefox/0.9.3

I've never had a crash.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8a3) Gecko/20040817

I just tried to do the same (editing a post) with explorer - no problem.

With Mozilla, in the same moment, when I klick on edit - whoop - Mozilla is off and away...

Never before have i met a page, where Mozilla chrashes in this manner.

hmmmm.....

You're using a nightly build. (unless they made a release on 8/17 I didn't notice!)  I strongly recommend you try a different (more recent) one - especially if you're using a trunk build. (Mozilla is on the branch now too, isn't it?)

After uninstalling my current mozilla and installing the latest 1.8.a3 again,
I had still no luck with editing.

I just downgraded to 1.7.2
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040803

editing works okay - no chrash.

Still, I wonder, what exotic (dangerous?) browser-function is called from the edit-post function of smf...?

No problems here

Revision 1.7 is the latest stable release, stick to that until they release the next stable version.

Nothing exotic at all is used; it should not be crashing.  It doesn't crash for anyone else :P.
