I have installed some themes on my forum. And I also have installed some mods. But those mods have some extra files put in the default theme.Do I have to copy those file into the other theme?
Do the other theme use those files directly in the default theme?
I really don't want to have many files that my site doesn't need. So,Please give me idea about this.
THanks.
First of all no file is a waste so NEVER EVER delete a file that you dont know about.Second If you want to install a Mod's button or say Mod to a custom theme you need to edit a few file NOT TO MOVE A FEW FILE.
Mod edit: Please don't spam support threads!
Yes, I know we have to edit some file to get the button. But I mean the extra file put into the default theme.
Nope never move a file that you dont know what it is.Specially the one's in Default folder or anywhere and you dont need to move it just let it be what it is.
To better explain:
No, you dont need to move a file.
SMF's theme system is redundant in the aspect that a file that doesn't exist in a theme directory will check and attempt to load the default theme's... if its not there but is in default, then it should be fine.
Dragooon: i would suggest not constantly openly linking to your topic for that all the time -- its considered spamming and really doesn't help in most support topics -- i would suggest putting the link in your signature instead.

Please be specific >:(. I mean extra file and copying, not moving.
So I only need to modify the files which's already in the other themes, when I install the mod. I don't need to copy those extra file to the theme folder?

This explain is so easy to understand.I really apreciate for that.
Okay let me clear this to you:
Dont move/Copy files as they may cause probs unless you are 100% sure what you are doing.
Yes You need to edit the files in the theme to install a mod's button to a custom theme.
