Title: An alternative to Community Builder
Post by: loki66 on April 17, 2007, 08:45:42 AM
I am a long time user of SMF than add a CMS: Joomla to extend my site. I tried CB from Joomla but quickly reversed to SMF because of the lack of security and the general poor code.

The question is : would it be possible to have a mod that implement the same functionalities as CB still relying on SMF registration and user management ?

For instance more personalization in the profile management.

Thanks,

LK

Sarge...   What does Coppermine have to do with CB?

Loki,

Try the custom profile fields mod (i.e. additional fields added to the user's profile)

Sorry for the mistake, I was talking about Joomla + SMF

I want new members to select a membergroup when signing up and to be able to switch. This should be enable as a core feature, I believe to deal with the concept of subcommunities ....

well, I disagree with the core feature bit...

but there is an SMF mod that allows users to pick their usergroup form a list.
