Title: PROBLEM!! SMF!!
Post by: eyebrowpaul on April 17, 2007, 04:55:08 PM
I am using joomla and SMF with Orstios bridge. Everything has been fine. I have not changed anything and all of a sudden today I have this problem

Warning: main(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/QueryString.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/httpd/vhosts/rpmmagazine.co.uk/httpdocs:/tmp) in /home/httpd/vhosts/rpmmagazine.co.uk/httpdocs/rpm/forum/SSI.php on line 57

Warning: main(/QueryString.php): failed to open stream: Operation not permitted in /home/httpd/vhosts/rpmmagazine.co.uk/httpdocs/rpm/forum/SSI.php on line 57

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/QueryString.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /home/httpd/vhosts/rpmmagazine.co.uk/httpdocs/rpm/forum/SSI.php on line 57

What does this mean?? Whats happend?? Is this a server problem?? A Bug?? Or a Hacker

my joomla directory is

www.rpmmagazine.co.uk/rpm/

and the whole site is down including the forum directory

www.rpmmagazine.co.uk/rpm/forum/

Please help

Paul

Have you installed any components or modules in Joomla lately?

Check the file Settings.php in your forum directory.  Make sure there is a definition for the $sourcedir variable.

They have now said

QuoteDear Ricky ,

We found that Setting.php file under /rpm/forum folder was renamed to Setting.php_back , this file was causing problem which we have renamed again to Setting.php ,

Feel free to contact us back.

Best Regards,

NetPivotal Team

Could anyone tell me why this would just happen on its own?? I didnt do this so how would this happen. I have also asked my support the same question... So again I will post that here...

My very uneducated guess is that they changed the open_basedir setting in php, then changed it again.
