Title: [SOLVED]problem with syncronized members.
Post by: imbalanced on April 18, 2007, 06:54:08 PM
Hello there.I have a problem.I explain my situation. In beggining , i used smf bridge in my joomla site(i have joomla 1.0.12).After i link my forum button in my homepage to www.mydomain.com/smf.So some members registered  with my joomla registration and others with the smf registration. So i sycronize the members from the smf bridge configuration utility. Now i notice that i have administrative priviliges for all members in the admin menu in smf but i dont have them in my joomla administrative interface.I have only the admin.privileges of joomla registered users. When i try to edit members imported from smf from my joomla admin interface it says me "You cannot edit a "registered".Only higher-level users have this power." but i am still logged as super administrator.I think the problem is that smf administrator isn't the same as the smf administrator. But i use the same username and same password for the smf and joomla administrators. Can you help please? From now on i use smf bridge unwrapped so i solve the problem. But how can i regain privileges over the smf users from my joomla admin.interface?Thank you in advance.

P.S.I have "Currently Logged in Users" two with my same name and username that are Super Administrators. The one i think from Smf and the other from joomla and they have the same pass.So why are different users?

P.S2 i have just created a member from smf registration admin panel. Then i  synced the smf user to joomla database and the user that i created passed to joomla users database. Now i delete the user from smf members and try to delete from joomla user panel too but it says me again "You cannot delete a `registered`. Only higher-level users have this power." !!!help me please.

did you try doing a search on this topic?   It's been discussed before.

First of all, you need to access the site through the bridge, not through the standalone forum
(i.e. index.php?option=com_smf not domains.com/smf)

second, you will need to go into the mySQL tables and correct the aro_id of the users. They have been incorrectly set to 0 or 1 and need to be 18.

As for tghe currently logged in users. This is not a bug...   it's the way joomla handles sessions... You could have as many as 20 users listed with the same name... not because the user is logged in 20 times, but because the user visited the site 20 times before the cookie timed out.  Admins are worse, because the system views a cookie form the main site and a cookie form the amdin site as two separate logins.
