Title: Failure by syncronize usernames between smf and joomla
Post by: Carino on April 26, 2007, 06:26:57 PM
hello and sorry, for my bad english  :P

I've got an error, if I have to syncronize usernames with the smf bridge (joomla).
Here is it:

QuoteRequest-URI Too Large
The requested URL's length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.

request failed: URI too long

What I should do? Is there a workaround?

Thanks a lot!

Carino

I ran into this very error and would like to know if there is a setting that can be modified/set to allow all users to get synchronized...
I'm in the middle of migrating into a Joomla - SMF Site and would like to complete the process ASAP...

The synchronization only competed 327 out of 359.  So close...

A big Thanks for any direction on this ! ! !

for what it's worth, you wont get this problem on mambo!

Have you tried re-compiling Apache with a higher LimitRequestSize?

Have you discussed it with your web host?

Have you thought about manually converting the last 40 or so members that did not auto convert?

check the usernames that failed and see if the data records have more garbage than they should
