Title: Help needed : Problem with Downloading the SMF forum backup
Post by: silver18 on June 11, 2007, 10:28:32 PM
Hi,

    I'm having a problem with Downloading the backup for my SMF forum, it works few months ago when i just install it to my server. It was suppose to download when i go to Admin page
( Forum Maintenance > Forum Maintenance - Backup Database)  and i click Download, it will pop out a compressed file of the database to be downloaded, But instead it loads me the index page of my Joomla page.

my joomla page =  (www.m-yo.com/v2)
forum page = (www.m-yo.com/forum)

I used a Joomla Hacks (Joomla - SMF) Bridge to connect both Joomla & SMF together.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
on top of that, i've been getting emails:

From :    Nobody <[email protected]>

There has been a problem with the database!

This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the
database, contact your host if this continues.

///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

but my forum have been running smoothly just that i could not backup the databse for my forum at the admin page

Hope someone could help me on this. Thanks

Try backing up your database from phpMyAdmin (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=21919.0) instead.

That error you are getting from your email can usually be ignored if your forum is running without any problems. It might just be your webhost restarting the server....nothing to fret ;)
