Hi,
I'm quite new to Bridging Joomla/SMF and have noticed that since the GPL fiasco started at Joomla, there have been a lot of projects that have been abandoned.
Seems there is no working, supported SMF bridge from the research I have done.
Is there one that I have missed? If so, please do me the favor of posting a link here so I can get it.

At the moment, the official SMF bridge is removed due to the conflict in license issue (conflict according to joomla)
I understand that the joomlhacks bridge is no longer being supported at joomlahacks.com
So, there is currently no bridge for joomla.
Our suggestion is to move to mambo 4.6.2, if that is at all possible.
Will the SMF bridge be returning at any point soon? I was really going to hold off on making my community a new site for a bit, until the Joomla/SMF bridge went back up...I thought it was going back up....
Would Joomla explode if I tried to use the Mambo bridge in Joomla?
I guess it might be wise to go Mambo anyway if the Joomla devs are going to continue to be idiots.
you can not use the mambo bridge in joomla.

It's looking more and more like this is the way to go. No matter what the Joomla team does, I don't see them coming out of this mess smelling like roses.

grrr and after i had been working on joomla template too.
the templating system in mambo is essentially the same as in joomla...

Unfortunately a move to Mambo is not possible due to other components installed on this particular site that are Joomla only.
I will delete the SMF installation that I had within the J DB and just install it seperately with a link to the forum. Does anyone know how I can unlink the SMF and Joomla Databases? I've never done that before.
I will have to consider going Mambo for future projects.
Will all current Joomla templates work with Mambo, because I have invested a lot of money purchasing templates for Joomla from template companies.

In theory, most Joomla templates should work with Mambo and vice versa, as of now. They use the same templating system. A good idea would be to install the theme and then test it using the mos_change_template=themename parameter on index.php
