Title: Is it difficult to integrate with joomla?
Post by: SGA360 on July 10, 2007, 04:32:43 PM
I am just curious how difficult is it to integrate my SMF board with a joomla site I might create. My coding experience is not too much but will I still be able to do it? All I am going to try and do is have the Log Ins the same. So when they sign in on the Joomla site, they also sign in on the SMF Board.

that is exactly what the bridge does...

However, the smf-joomla bridge is currently unavailable.

I suggest using Mambo if you have not already created the joomla site.

Do you have any idea when the Joomla bridge will be available? I have yet to create the site so I'm not killing myself right now. I picked Joomla over Mambo, but since I have to create a site using Mambo, is there any significant differences between the two that I should be aware of? Any help would be appreciated.

At the moment, I mambo 4.6.x is better than joomla 1.0.x (IMO) and the bridge is available for mambo.

However, as the two programs diverge further, components and modules for one will not work on the other...  and the way joomla is going, many 3rd party developers are reconsidering further development. (see the thread in this board about the missing bridge)
