I had been looking for an Unanswered Posts type mod for my forum and finally came across this mod:
Unreplied Topics (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=46)
It did what I wanted (search and list all topics with zero replies) but updates and support for it had stopped a long time ago. There had recently been some discussions on how to make the mod work with newer versions, though, in this thread (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=19494.0). So, instead of manually installing it, I decided to try making my first mod package to install it on my forum. It worked perfectly, but I want to make some changes to some of the code to make things look better when displayed.
Anyway, I know when searching I saw there was some interest in this type of mod. So, if anyone is interested, I'll see about putting it up on a package server for download.
I've finished updating the code to blend in with the SMF 1.1.3 default theme. Here are a few screenshots of what the mod looks like in action.

I'll be setting up a package server in the next couple of days where this mod can be downloaded from. If anyone is interested in it before then, PM me.
Ok, after some minor bugs were discovered and dealt with, I'm happy to say the ZeroReplyTopics mod is ready to go. A big thanks to karlbenson and Rudolf for their invaluable help in this.
The mod currently works on versions 1.1.1, 1.1.2, and 1.1.3 in the default theme only. I'll try to add support for all themes included with the SMF download. If you have any questions or problems, please post them here in this thread.
To download and install the mod, on your forum, go to:
ADMIN=>PACKAGES=>DOWNLOAD PACKAGES
In the Add Server section, paste http://selorian.com/smf into the url box and click the Add Server button. Once the package server has been added, open it and click download located next to the mod name. The package manager will take it from there.
Enjoy!
A demo of it can be seen at: http://selorian.com/forums/index.php?action=unreplied
Did you use any of Anguz's code? If so, you have two things you should do. If not, you should do at least one.
First, send Anguz a PM asking if you can use his code and even take over that customization. If he says yes, have him send the Customization Team a PM.
You should submit it to the customization site here so more people can benefit from your work :)
I'll PM him and ask him. Apparently [Unknown] wrote most of the original code Anguz used, do I need to PM him as well?
Before taking over his customization, if he is even willing, can the original name (Unreplied Topics) be changed to the one I'm using (ZeroReplyTopics), or does it need to remain the same?
I'd be glad to submit this to the customization site, but I imagine it is dependant on whether Anguz gives his permission for the use of his portion of code whether it's able to be?
Just submit your customization to the site as a new customization under the name of your liking with a proper package id. Make sure you follow the coding guidelines and the mod approval guidelines.
I've sent Anguz a PM asking for permission to use his code. If he agrees, I'll take the next steps in getting this to the customization site.
selorian, I replied to your PM with a copy to groundup.
Great mode. Thanks.
One suggestion.
Can we limit not to show unreplied topics in specific board ?
as far as I'm aware, if you add board=2
to the end of the mod, it should search specific boards only.
(in the last version I had you could)
Another one suggestion.
I need delete topic icon at the right most column too, cause some topic
that no replied may be from uninterested post and can be delete in that page.
Anybody knows the status of this mod. http://selorian.com/smf/ seems to be gone?
Looks like the mod has gone.
I would be very interested in this mod if it is revived.
I believe karl has a mod that incorporates the functionality of this mod. Maybe he can confirm.
I've stopped using it, so I haven't updated it to work with the newer versions of the forum software.
OK, if he's gone, I guess I'll pick it up again. What SMF version do you need it to run on?
Does anybody still have a valid version of this interesting mod?
