Narenciye is a green and orange theme designed for SMF 1.1 which has completely recreated HTML. It also uses table-less layout, semantical markup and improved accessibility.

I would like to thank Tim for his comments while the creation. I would also like to thank the rest of the team for their opinions and also the SMF community which made all of this possible.

Holy majoley thats cool!

I have a request. May I use your header (the way it is with the menu) on my own custom theme I am creating? I am not going to release it or anything like that, it will just be for my forum.

Well you would need to copy HTML and also some CSS. For starters you can copy the #header div in the HTML and the CSS.

Biliyorum sadece Türkçe de problem olduğunu forum isminin çok uzun olmasından kaynaklanıyor...
Title: Re: Narenciye
Post by: sultanE on August 27, 2007, 06:07:36 AM
 Eren forum isminden değilde Türkçeden kaynaklandığını düşünüyorum, ingilizce olarak dili ayarladığımızda herhangi bir problem yaşanmıyor.
Style.css de menude yer alan font boyutunu pixel cinsinden girdiğimde sorun düzeliyor.

Bu kodu;
#hdrrgt li a
{
        padding: 8px 0 8px 42px;
        margin-right: 18px;
font-size: 150%;
color: #E0E0E0;
}

bu şekilde değiştirdiğimde;
#hdrrgt li a
{
    padding: 8px 0 8px 42px;
    margin-right: 18px;
font-size: 15px;
color: #E0E0E0;
font-weight: bold;
}

Dediğim gibi forum ismi uzun olduğu için, Türkçe'dede menü metinleri büyüyünce bu hale geliyor.

In Firefox, using Spanish Language, at 800*600, the header icons get together... The posts above fix this problem?

I love this theme, it's very simple and clean, but it has 2 annoying bugs.  :(
Can this be solved?

Bug1 - Forum header at 800X600

Hello!

Just put the theme on my forum, and looks great :)

I do not care about bug 1 (whomever wants a decent browsing experience, should at least get a display able to show 1024x768 otherwise it can use the wap2 interface :D)

Anyway.

Fix for bug 2 above is to edit style.css and find:

#lstlist
{
        margin: 0px 0px 11px 13px;
        list-style-type: circle;
}

Replace with:

#lstlist
{
        margin: 0px 0px 11px 13px;
        list-style-type: circle;
        clear: both;
}

I also found a 3rd bug, which happens in IExplore 7.0 (both on my forum and on the theme's demo site). The big buttons in the upper right have the last row of images chopped just under the text (For example, when you're not logged in, you won't see the full green circle next to Register, it would have its bottom part chopped off - IE Guillotine Bug).

Fix is again in style css. Find:

#hdrrgt li a.register
{
        background: url(images/buttons/menu/register.gif) no-repeat center left;
        margin-right: 0;
}

Replace with:

#hdrrgt li a.register
{
        background: url(images/buttons/menu/register.gif) no-repeat center left;
        margin-right: 0;
        position: relative;
}

Of course , you need to do this for all the buttons in the lower row: login, register, profile, my messages and logout.

Njoy!

I made the changes at style.css as mentioned above but the problem still exists. I use greek -utf language if that helps.

Looking forward to using it.

Great theme by the way  :)

Hmm... What resolution are you using ?
That happens to me (text + icons shifting down) when I use 800x600 [that's in fact bug 1) above].

If you're above that resolution, please put the URL so I can have a look.

Please edit the style.css and search for:

#hdrrgt li a
{
  padding: 8px 0 8px 42px;
  margin-right: 18px;
font-size: 150%;
color: #E0E0E0;
    font-weight: bold;
}

Try reducing the font-size to something like 130% or 140%. I suspect that the translation occupies more compared to English text making the div to find some place below. Reducing the text should help the problem.

I've already applied all the changes mentioned to this post. my problem is the position rather than the font size.

Any further suggestions?

Great Theme but some of the buttons don't show in IE 6 when I click on 'view most recient post...'

Also had problems with the main icons but figured out that it was because on my logo being too big. fixed that and the header works fine now.

again, great theme thanks

Which languages exactly, the image doesn't really have a source file as it's plain anti-aliased courier with a * at the left :=)

Excellent looking theme, superb and beautiful work  8)

I am quite a newbie to this, but a very tiny problem I noticed and needed to fix after install.

I found that new.gif and calendarpe.gif did not show up in the forum, the link pointed the browser to the 'english-utf8' directory, which was not a directory that was auto-created under my theme install for some reason?!

My simple green/newbie fix was to create the english-utf8 directory [Themes/narenciye/images/english-utf8] and copy new.gif from the 'english' directory and calendarpe.gif from the 'buttons' directory ... which solved the problem !!!

Apart from that, all is good and I am delighted to use this theme - thanks again, by far the best theme for what I want  :D

I also notice the same problem when you hit "help" many of the gifs are missing, most of them pointing to the english-utf8 directory, but some also to the images directory.

Some of these gifs are a little harder to find!

Sorry, I hope this is useful feedback not a pain.

Same issue with the Alak theme  BTW ...

Hi,
A quick Q on Narenciye.
Under current theme / Theme option and preferences there are two text boxes above the logo image url box ... these are not in the default theme ... so I assume these are an extra as part of this theme?

Can you explain what these do for a newbie like me?!!

Thanks

Ivan
Title: Re: Narenciye
Post by: forsakenlad on October 10, 2008, 07:48:19 PM
Hey Ivan,

If you switch to English language, you will see what each boxes do. It would be great if you could actually provide a translation so we can make it compatible with your language.
Title: Re: Narenciye

Hi Erin,
Apologies, I had the language set to default which was English-utf8 ... as soon as I changed to English it fixed it up!

I am from Australia ... I can translate that a sausage is a snag and two weeks is a fortnight ... but that probably is not going to help  ;D

Thanks again!

Ivan

Hi,

I notice in my forum error log I get this message repeated :

8: Use of undefined constant smf251 - assumed 'smf251'
File: /Themes/narenciye/Display.template.php (eval?)
Line: 341

There are so many of these errors (repeated) it is hard to see real problems!!!

The theme works fine, but the log is full!!

Cheers

Ivan

Actually the fix was quite easy ... I worked it out myself as I slowly learn more about being a webmaster  ;)

The fix was to simply edit the Display.template.php file.

I did a search for smf251 ... and found that it was not in quotes ... so the easy fix was to change smf251 to 'smf251' and the errors went away ...

I hope this helps another fellow newbie like me!

Still love this them BTW!   8)
