Title: Accessing function database?
Post by: King Turi on August 13, 2007, 04:33:23 AM
I'm attempting to upload a sick theme to the forum, but it says I can't as my theme directory is not writable.

I'm pretty sure I have to change a "no" to a "yes" in the function database for it, but I don't know how to access the function database.

Unless I'm heading in the wrong direction in regards to fixing the problem?

I don't fully understand your problem, but here are a few ideas (not sure if they help):

1. "theme directory is not writable"

It's an FTP write permission problem that has to do with CHMOD

How do I chmod? / what is chmod? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=477)

2. If you would like to read more about SMF functions, browse the function database

I get this:

"Warning - you cannot create or install a new theme as your themes directory is not currently writable"

I tried the CHMOD/Properties thing, and it didn't work. :(

Is this issue solved or do you still require assistance?

You can manually upload the theme yourself if you wish. If you use cpanel you can take the uncompressed file and zip it. Then upload it to cpanel and unzip it from cpanel.
