does every SMF theme work with TP?

So the TP theme isn't for my forum just for the portal part?

the TP theme involves a wrapper portion plus the index.template.php...

So, if you want to use an SMF theme, you either need to get the TP version of that same theme or modify your theme to run TP.

and I have no skills as you know kindred lol, I am never going to find a portal solution for my site.

Why don''t you give mkportal a try. With it you can use the smf theme that you want and set it as default for the whole website

there are themes that look s pretty good for TP+SMF

+ Conversion is not that hard. It took me 5 mins to convert a SMF Theme into TP which I use on my site now.
