Hi to all
Hi dschwab9
I post here since the server move tonight has been closed...
could you do something to convert automatically html entities here please? (in php.ini surely)
still for now problem with éèàçûüîïù etc...all special characters...
there are all represented like this here:

Thanks.
Can you show us posts or other things?
You just posted it fine it looks like.
ÓÔˇflÓÔÔ˝◊Á‡°ı½ÔÓ‰fl‡›flÍÏıÓÎÏ˝ÚˆØˆ˝ÏÎ͆¥´∑∞¢£∑ß∂çƒ˙∆øˆ¨¥•¶ƒ¥ßΩ∂ƒåƒß©
for exemple in french section...(only the dates, so server problem, not languages files..)
to see the problem, go on french section and put your forum in french language, and you'll see fastly the problem...
Worked fine for me when I used the language drop down above on the french board.
Realize though that the language drop down will not change posts into another language, only the Text from the forum itself
yes of course lol..that's only the goal of this box lol...
but the problem is on the forum text itself justly...
I can confirm this, with dates at least:

Did you add a bug report Daniel or are you being lazy :P
Does it occur with other languages? It may be possible the French language isn't setting the correct charset, did you check that?
for me it's only a line in the php.ini of the server to resolve le the problem..

Oops, forgot to do that... I added one right now :P

Could you please elaborate? What is the fix in php.ini? :)
add or check lines in it like this:
mbstring.encoding_translation = On
mbstring.internal_encoding = HTML-ENTITIES
or more generally all functions mbstring in the php.ini.
i can give only ways cause i don't know your php.ini servers files...
They want not to be in charge of foreigners here or what? there is that only for those who speak English? >:(
Others are not important to not see our problem? >:(
Its been reported already, and is in the bug tracker.
Thanks.
Bugtracker could it be accessible to local moderators too...
Thanks of your report to us.
News about this problem, we don't see any éè etc... in the dates now... :(
only thing new in the bug is that it was bumped to being a 2.0 bug on Feb 6th, but it hasn't been fixed yet
Thanks for your report.
I can see the problem is solved now.
Can we have the solution reported? cause lots of users have this bug and it will be cool to know if it's a thing to update on their servers...
If I knew what the solution was, I'd gladly tell you. The bug report was closed by Aaron on November 8th saying that the issue appeared to be resolved.

Thanks oldiesmann.
aaron, could you tell us if something has been changed for that? (on the server or in the code?)
i up this post to know how the person which has corrected this can say here how.
Thanks.
Perhaps it was an issue in our version of the language files at the time? I can't find anything else regarding the issue other than the ticket
i don't know, but lots of people ask me this kind of problem (seems to be a server configuration problem) and it will be interesting for all to know how it was corrected...
