Title: Two different links/forums with the same info
Post by: edsistrunk on January 13, 2008, 10:30:36 PM
Can I does the following...

I have a political message board that discusses the 2008 election races. It has 7 General categories with each category having several child boards. I would like to create a new General Category (Military Veterans) and  for it to have its own child boards.

Example of what I am trying to do.

One of my General Categories is Congress 08. It has all 435 races with each one having its on child boards. Several of those races have veterans of the military running for office.

So..example

General Category: Congress 08
Child Board: NC-05
Child Board: Will Beazeale

Want to Create new General Category:
General Category: Military Veterans
Child Board: Will Beazeale

How do I get both of the boards (@ill Beazeale) to link and have the same info even though they under two different General Categories?

Is this possible.

At the moment, SMF itself doesn't support this. You can try asking in the coding board or put in a mod request.

Correction: The Redirection Boards (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=38) mod will probably do what you want. Just set the link to the board you want to go to.
