Title: File wont overwrite
Post by: fecu2008 on March 04, 2008, 10:27:18 AM
I was going to manually install paypal donations and I got these errors.

2. Execute Modification ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php Test failed
3. Execute Modification ./Sources/ModSettings.php Test failed

I used package parser to edit those sections, but now when I upload them back to overwrite, it wont overwrite the files.

Am I doing something wrong?  Should I apply mod first then upload those files I edited?

I usually install with tests failed, and then edit the files that failed. Works fine for me, but be sure to back up the necessary files.

so you recommend installing the pacakage, then editing managepermissions and modsettings?

what if i do that and it wont overwrite the files?

What do you mean? I manually edit the needed files with cpanel, or I download them via ftp client, edit them, ann reupload :].

Edit: Have you uninstalled it?

I havnt installed the mod. I get an error when im about to apply the mod in those categories.

I then, backed up those area, used parser package to fix those areas and when I try to upload the files, it wont overwrite.

So your saying install the mod with the errors then edit those files that are corrupt and reupload them right?

Yes :]. Just make sure to have back ups of those files, that aren't edited just in case.

You should still check to make sure that the edits are in the files, because there might be a small little thing missing that you won't notice... it is your preference though :].
