Nice job, [SiNaN]. I like this, clean like the vB version of this, and very useful and informative. I'll use this on all my forums, I think.
Keep them coming!
Great mod! Thanks ; )
Just curious how to make this mod working with Related Topics Mod :=/
Sorry to sound bland...
But can someone up an image, so I can see what this actually does.
My forum isnt open yet, so Im not too sure if I need a message/PM from someone, or what to see this.
Thank You :)
This creates a Permissions Box much like on vBulletin forums, indicating what you have permission to do in each forum/topic.
Thanks Eliana.
Here are the demos:
http://bizmuhacirler.com/test/index.php/board,1.0.html
http://bizmuhacirler.com/test/index.php/topic,3.0.html
It's at the bottom of the pages.

I'll look at that au8ust.
SiNaN..
In your demo links that box shows two "You Can't Post Replies" lines but when I look on the image on the mod page, one of those says "you cant post attachments". Once its installed, which way will it show up?
Thanks :)
Thanks Eliana & SiNaN :)

That's a language file mistake.

Hi [SiNaN],
Nicew mod but is it possible to have another with it only to display to guests as with the Quick Reply mod it makes it untidy. Or is there a way to RIGHT ALIGN the Quick Reply mod?
Great mod Sinan..
But, There is a huge blank at the bottom. maybe you can make pop-up box to show permissions. :-\
For example:
First..
when you click the buttom, than will open a little pop-up page.
So as you can see the second image, there is no huge blank at the bottom. :)
NICE Mod
Work fine 100%

Sorry SiNaN, I mean "collapsable" too :D
Ofcourse..
Not pop-up
So you can see collaps buttons :)
Bit busy now sorry, if you put the Quick Reply mod on the test site (install and uninstall) you will get an idea of what I mean. :)

Okay, I'll look at that.
Sorry the mod I am using is the Enhanced Quick Reply Box 2.0 + I have Tiny Portal so it probably just makes things squishy, Im now thinking to use the VB style theme though as this is perfect for it, still if it could be modified (seperate modification) for guests only that would be great. Nice work on the mod!

Slight problem, it is displayed that my members cannot post replies but they actualy can... The error is only for members, the admin and guests have the right info dispayed.
Found it! You have to replace the line:
', (allowedTo('post_reply')) ? $txt['reply_permission_yes'] : $txt['reply_permission_no'], '
by:
', (allowedTo('post_reply_any')) ? $txt['reply_permission_yes'] : $txt['reply_permission_no'], '
in Display.template.php
Thanks Patriick, I'll change it.
Also have to change it on messageindex.template.php :)
Sinan old friend....
It seems we run into each other a lot, lately.
Another great Sinan mod. :)
Keep up the great work!
The box won't collapse for me and I'm using version 1.1.
Also, when I try to put the Permissions Info box below the quick reply form (before the ?>), it ends up above the forum logo area. So I played around with it and discovered that I have to add the code before:
echo '
<form action="', $scripturl, '?action=spellcheck" method="post" accept-charset="', $context['character_set'], '" name="spell_form" id="spell_form" target="spellWindow"><input type="hidden" name="spellstring" value="" /></form>';
}
?>
It works now - below the quick reply area. :)
I just wanted to "Thanks SiNaN" for this very helpful Modification.
I also want to say that I downloaded the Mod Package after July 12th, 2008 from the SMF Mod site. After it was installed...I did noticed the display appeared as follows even though the Admin >> Permissions >> by Membergroup was correctly configured, and the membergroup WITH permissions to post replies actually could post replies...even though the display said they could not.
OLD DISPLAY
You can post new topics. [ This was a correct read-out. ]
You can't post replies. [ This was an incorrect read-out. ]
You can't post attachments. [ This was a correct read-out. ]
You can modify your posts. [ This was a correct read-out. ]
So...I also want to thank Patriiick and BurkeKnight for the quick and easy fix.
THANKS!
All is well and good now!

i just install the code but information window is BLANK and it have colaps button and a devider line center of the box.
any help with this issue.
mod was installed nicely with 1 file skiping , may that was other langauge file.
Can you post a screenshot?
I didn't see this addressed, so I hope I'm the only one having this problem. :(
I installed the Permisions Info mod with no errors, then when I refreshed my page I got a bunch of nonsense on the top of the page over the header block. I uninstalled the mod, refreshed my page and STILL get the mess at the top of the page.
The mess is: (also attached a screenshot, if it comes through ok)
//Permission Info Mod $txt['permissions_info'] = 'Permissions'; $txt['post_new_topic_permission_yes'] = 'You can post new topics.'; $txt['post_new_topic_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post new topics.'; $txt['reply_permission_yes'] = 'You can post replies.'; $txt['reply_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post replies.'; $txt['attachment_permission_yes'] = 'You can post attachments.'; $txt['attachment_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post attachments.'; $txt['modify_permission_yes'] = 'You can modify your posts.'; $txt['modify_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t modify your posts.'; $txt['bbc'] = 'BBCode'; $txt['smiley'] = 'Smilies'; $txt['img'] = '[img]'; $txt['html'] = 'HTML'; $txt['enabled'] = 'Enabled'; $txt['disabled'] = 'Disabled'; //Permission Info Mod//Permission Info Mod $txt['permissions_info'] = 'Permissions'; $txt['post_new_topic_permission_yes'] = 'You can post new topics.'; $txt['post_new_topic_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post new topics.'; $txt['reply_permission_yes'] = 'You can post replies.'; $txt['reply_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post replies.'; $txt['attachment_permission_yes'] = 'You can post attachments.'; $txt['attachment_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t post attachments.'; $txt['modify_permission_yes'] = 'You can modify your posts.'; $txt['modify_permission_no'] = 'You can\'t modify your posts.'; $txt['bbc'] = 'BBCode'; $txt['smiley'] = 'Smilies'; $txt['img'] = '[img]'; $txt['html'] = 'HTML'; $txt['enabled'] = 'Enabled'; $txt['disabled'] = 'Disabled';
My other mods and the site seem to work fine except for all the extra mess at the top of the page.
I am blind, but when my wife came home from work, she went through the manual install instructions for the mod and basically worked her way backwards and removed the code that had been added to the files and still, the mess is there. She edited the following files - all from /themes/default:
index.template.php, Display.template.php and MessageIndex.template.php, also from /themes/default/languages the Modifications.english.php.
Where, oh where do I need to look to find the mess up??
We are definitely not programmers, so the easiest explanation is best. :)
Thanks in advance,
Flip

OK I'll give my wife the news on what to look for.

Do you know of anything simple I can use to edit php files?

You can use Notepad. It is the simplest.
Hey Sinan,
Thanks, I'll give it a go as my screen-reader reads fine in notepad.
Thanks Flip
OK metallica,
added "?>" to the end of the
mod.eng.php file and no joy.

This code should appear once in that file:
?>
And it should be at the end of the file.
Check your file, you have two of those code.
Hey Sinan,
If I put the file up here could you take a look at it, it's my backup?
Thanks Flip
Hey all,
Just to let you all know, I did get the problem fixed.
It was the "?>" -- the code it put in went in after rather than befor. But Thanks to all the help it now LIVE and it's so cool.
Thanks Lotts Flip

o Added support to SMF 2.0 BETA 4.
o Added support to SMF 1.1.6.
o Two little bugs fixed.
o Added support to Babylon and Classic Theme.
o Added Spanish, Spanish-uft8, English-utf8, Turkish-utf8 Languages.
Special Thanks to SiNaN for create the original mod
I have a little issue.
This only applies to my regular users and mods.
In the permissions box it says that they can't post when in fact they can. It is odd, BTW they do in fact have permission to post it just SAYS they cant.
Congratulations on such a nice entry into this mod's workings, NIBOGO.
Just installed it into my SMF 2.0 Beta 4, and works great.
However, I do think it should go in after the quick reply, so it looks better design wise.
I did that on my site, if you want to check it out. The Advertise board allows guests.

Modify the table in the DIsplay.template and MessageIndex.template
I have (or had) 1.1.7 and even though the users could reply to messages, the mod showed this...
You can post new topics.
You can't post replies.
You can post attachments.
You can modify your posts.
Hey Bass_Chaz ,

That was added in the v1.2 ;)
I may have missed it, but is there a way for me to be able to put the permissions info box ABOVE the post/topic block?
It shows fine, it's just that it's so far down the page, I'm afraid some folks may not scroll that far down and see it. Would kind of like it to be right there in their face, as it were. :)
Thanks,
Flip

o Added Support for 1.1.8 & SMF 2.0 RC1.
o Changed the Permission Info Style.
o Added support for "The Rules (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1343)" Mod by Deprecated.
To see the new permission info box style check the screenshot in the Mod Page
Installed on a modded site and works great!
Where would I change text color? I'm using a dark theme and the "you can't post" and "enabled" part of the permission block are very hard to read.
Thanks in advance
Hey, NIBOGO,
installed the newest version with no problem. Mickey looked at it and said it doesn't show "The Rules" button like it does in your screenshot. My screen reader doesn't read it as being there either.
Did I miss something? Or is there something I need to edit? Or better yet, is it just not something that admins would see??
Thanks again.
TTYL,
Flip
You have installed this mod: "The Rules (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1343)" ??
Hey NIBOGO,
sure have, even read through the install doc on the download page and don't see a thing about the rules, but screenreaders are good at not reading everything and I might have missed it also.
Even tryed uninstalling and reinstalling your mod.
do I need to turn something on or is there a check box I need to check?
TTYL Flip
p.s. your account is still good there.
You have to install this mod:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1343
After in that mod settings you have to enable this field:
'Enable member access'
Do you mean This one witch I have installed.
The Rules 1.2.
Just double checked and perms are set for members.

It shouldn't work just because this mod isn't compatible with Curve and as SMF 2.0 RC2 changes all the Javascript I need to re-write this mod from the scratch to add the collapsable feature or just update to 2.0 RC2 without the Collapsable
I have this installed on SMF 1.1.11 and can you tell me please how to modify to show up: you can.... and down bbc enabled.....etc like in picture posted by Shark-Time.
Like in my attached picture:
10x in advance !
Just modify the table with this content, reduce the width in a half and then move all the second tr to the first separated with td
For more info about how to work with tables on HTML use google
I installed it manually, made all the modifications needed, but the permissions block doesn't appear :-\. I use a custom theme.
Could somebody help me? I attach the files that I modified
Thanks in advance!

Are you using the default theme?? If not did you made the changes to the theme's files??
SMF Version??
No, I'm using a Custom Theme, called Fire. And yes, I did the changes listed from the parser. My SMF version is 1.1.11.
Thanks for answer!
Everything seems to be fine just overwritting the three files everything should be working obviouslly if you do it in the files from the Fire theme

I did it.
I discover that it shows fine in the messages, but it doesn't in the topics list :o.
Don't know what could be the cause.
Nice Mod
Please update it for SMF 2.0RC3 ;)

Bump :)
Updated, now supporting SMF 2.0 RC4, also Arabic and French translations were added
uploaded, but when I went to install it, I get a blank page. can't install it
I think it could be an issue with the package, as it was uploaded when the server was under maintenance. Re-uploaded, please try again.
still showing a blank page when I tried to apply it (using 1.1.12)

if you use The Rules (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1343) and this mod, it should already be automatically added like in the attachment. I have both and I did not need to do anything for "The Rules" to show in the Permissions info block
sir, i have a problem in this mod. It doesn't show up in my forum. im using SMF2.0.2 and the theme of my forum is on default. I installed it successfully but the image like in your screenshot didn't appear under the topics of my boards. What should I do? Please help me sir. This is the only mod that I need to complete my forum. :(
