While trying to install mods, I get asked for FTP info, because of unwritable info, yet I can't figure out what to do.

Anyone know what I should put in here? It keeps saying what I have is wrong.

1) Its asking for your FTP info. AKA The information you used to install your forum. See: How do I use FTP? / What is FTP? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=480)

2) You should go in FTP and make sure you chmodded all your SMF files (How do I use chmod? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=23690.0))

I chmodded all my files, but this is a zipped RAR file it wants to make writeable, and I can't do that.

Have you put in 100% correct FTP username/password into that prompt? Also are you Local Path is 100% correct for your install? (I personally wouldn't use folder with spaces in their names).

Were you ever able to install mods on your forum? Have you looked at the Package Manager sticky?
