Title: SMF SEO [Was:smf vs phpbb3]
Post by: LT07 on May 30, 2008, 06:03:09 AM
In my opinion smf is a superior forum however phpbb indexes perfectly in the search engines, smf does not.
Since SE traffic is important to me I will have to drop smf if no solution is found :(

Why don't you suggest some possible reasons for the problem then?

SMF has SEO mods. The devs have also stated that SEO will be improved in future versions

I don't know the reason I just know the problem exists and has done for a long time.

All links in smf that use "index.pht?action=" index perfectly in google (and they are the ones you don't want to be indexed) and the rest google ignores.

smf does not need mods to improve seo it needs the code that blocks spiders removing!!
