Title: Convert VBulletin 3.6.8 to Subforum, is it possible ?
Post by: Ggot on June 19, 2008, 01:38:05 AM
I'm running a quite big forum based on SMF (an mmorpg themed forum), and I'm thinking about to buy a VBulletin based WoW forum.

My main forum site has a subforum for WoW.

Is it possible somehow to convert the members + the topics, and posts to the subforum ? The VBulletin forum has Threads: 695, Posts: 6,575, Members: 4,214 so convert manually is impossible.

Thanks, ggot

a possible solution would be to convert vBulletin to  blank SMF ander after successfull conversion merging the primary SMF with the new one.

What you are effectively asking is for a converter/merge script.  I've yet to see a successful merging of SMF forums, let alone just portions of a converted forum.  You best bet is the thread ThorstenE has linked too, but it's a major undertaking and I doubt is a viable option.

It would take some considerable coding skills.
