Problem: Lots O Smileys didn't work for me!
Original Topic: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=23738.0
So, I just spent like, 2 weeks trying to figure out why I was having such troubles getting Lots o Smileys to work for me,
I googled, I searched this site with a fine tooth comb, but nothing, seemed like ALOT of other people had the same problem, but no one knew how to fix it.
....soo.. I set up a couple test forums, and figured it out.
The original forum (that it wasn't working on) was running 1.1.5, with MySQL 5.0
My first two tries didn't work, so I tried with different versions of smf and mysql...
I finally got it to work right with 1.1.1 and MySQL 4.0 (mysql 4.0 being the key)
From there, I exported the smileys database entry, and imported it into my 1.1.5/5.0 test site, and voila!
works great!
To fix,
Just go into my phpMyAdmin (or whatever you use for editing your database)
Delete the smileys table (I'd back up just in case)
import the attached table, and there you go!
Now, this will create entries for all the Lots O Smiles smileys, which means that if you use a default set, and are offering LOS as a user selectable, then you'll want to go through and edit all the extra smiles(in any other set) to be pop up or hidden (depending on what you're doing), oh, and I didn't do it, but you'll probably want to make most of the smileys popup anyways, as there are alot!
Also, LOS didn't seem to have the default type smileys, so you'll need to copy over the default ones to the LOS directory (or which ever ones you love best ;) )
Hope I could help!

thank you :)
Nice! :)
I want to add smileys to our site, The members are getting bored of the default smiley set and would love something new.
Forum version: SMF 1.1.5

MySQL version: 5.0.45-log
Server version: Apache

well, there's plenty in the modifications section..
This is the fix for the Lots o Smileys package
which you can find here- http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=77
it adds, alot.
I'm very new at this and do not understand how to add them all though :( Can I get step by step instructions on how for my version of smf please?
Why don't you try asking in the support section, where that query belongs?
