I know this has been asked before. So, I apologize for repeating the question.
When I do a search, I get a lot of stuff that has little to do with the information I want/need.
I would like to change the smilies on my board.
How is this done?
Do I have to upload a new set?
And...is so...is this done through the Package handler?
Or, can I simple go in ( via FTP ) and upload replacements to the default set?
TIA

Have a read of the Smileys Documentation:
Smileys and Message Icons (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=58.0;sort=subject)
THANK YOU!
I did see this section...AGES ago! Before I opted to install SMF.
And...I couldn't find it again.
Thank, again!

Ok...
I thought my problem and questios were solved.
But all Smileys and Message Icons link supplied does is tell me how or why each option is used.
I still can't make my new smilies work.
Do I have to upload a package with the Package handler?
Or can I use FTP to create a folder, and than upload the unzipped files to the folder.
Here's what I have at this time...
I did create a folder ( via FTP ) called mine.
I uploaded the graphics ( via FTP ) to the folder called mine.
Then I went to
Admin >> Smileys and Message Icons >> Settings
and made the Default Smiley Set "mine".
But...the original default set is still showing in the forum.
And, if I open the
Admin >> Smileys and Message Icons >> Edit Smilieys
the "mine" set is on that screen.
So...WHAT am I doing wrong that I can't get them to display in the forum?
TIA

Yes, if you want to totally replace them and not have the 'old' ones. The simple process is to just upload a replacement image over the current one. Making sure it's the same name and extension. Then it will automatically change.
Thank you for your response, Rumbaar.
Yes...I do want to completely replace the existing graphics with the new ones.
That is what I needed to know.
