I know you can't give time frames but are we talking weeks or months for beta 4?

I personally hope that it is out in a few weeks, but according to that post, it may be delayed longer than that. Although hopefully it won't be multiple months.

Thanks, wasn't one of the original ideas of SMF 2.0 to have the mods work with other themes too ?
I think so, whenever you install a mod with SMF 2 Beta, you get the option to perform the template edits for every theme. Although it doesn't always work, so with a completely custom theme, you will still need to perform the necessary edits.
