Post by: redsonic on August 26, 2008, 06:29:00 AM
right hi guys n dolls, im new here so be gentle, i once used this ace forum on another site i had, and am now thinking of using it again, i have a gaming website,www.gamingladders.eu , what i want to know is can i intergrate the sign up of the forum into the sign up of the main site, in other words when people sign up to the main site can it also sign them up for the forums so they dont have to and when they log into the main site there also logged into the forums aswell autamatically, also is there a mod for displaying the latest forum posts onto the my main site page.

Have a read of this documentation:
How to use the SMF user system outside of SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=789)
[README] SSI FAQ's (http://index.php?topic=14906.0)
Using SSI.php (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=400)

yeh cheers for that, but i dont think its what i wanted, i want it so that you dont have to sign up for the forum at all, when you sign up for the main site i want it to use the same details for the forum itself, so the members dont even know its doing it, seemless

so when your on the main site you can just click the forum and your already signed in signed up, when you log in to the main site, can the registration.php. file on my main site be modified to do this

The thread below may be of use:

It may not be exactly what you want, but its an example of how you can do it. ;)
You will have to included the SSI.php file for it to run.
