Title: Crashed message board on Upgrade
Post by: thomz on November 20, 2008, 09:09:22 AM
I tried upgrading my 1.0.x install to 1.1.6 using the Fantastico panel on Lunarpages. The upgrade seemed to go well, but when I went to the page, I get this message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: smf_seed_generator() in /home/clayp3/public_html/message/index.php on line 86

I have the backup files, but when I place those on the server, I get the same message. So, my questions/ideas are:

1. Is there something I'm doing wrong in trying to upgrade or replace the message board files?

2. Can I create a new message board and import the old database? And if so, how?

Thanks!

Fantastico has a reputation for breaking SMF. Besides, the latest version is 1.1.7. You might want to grab the large upgrade package and upload those files. You'll need to re-install any mods you had prior.
