What version?  Install the reCAPTCHA for SMF (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1044) mod.

If you are running 1.1.7 you might want to try the Anti-Spam Verification Questions for SMF 1.1.7 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1516)

Either one of these should stop the spammers.

I would like to add a second vote for the ReCaptcha modification.  My sons forum was getting 4 - 6 spammers a day.  And this was even though captcha and email activation was enabled.  Once I installed ReCapthca the spam stopped right then.  Here we are 3 weeks later and not a single spammer has signed up since ReCapthca was installed.

That was my problem and the reason I was trying out that damn ABRP mod. When I get things fixed I will give this a try.

Santaji,
Did either of those mods help you to stop spammers? Is this issue solved or do you still require assistance? If this is solved feel free to mark it as solved otherwise reply with some details of what isn't working.

I'm using "Are You Human? Anti-Bot Registration Check"
and "Anti-Bot Registration Puzzles"
This has made spam stop to a complete halt.

The Are You Human mod seems to have stopped unwanted registrations on both my 1.1.7 boards as well as my 2.0b4 boards.
