Title: More Problems With Permissions
Post by: glennk on January 27, 2009, 08:34:38 AM
After recent problems with permissions I thought I finally understood how they work.

Sadly Ive been proven wrong again. I got a message from one of my forum members expressing concern that he could see the moderation option from my menu. As he isnt a moderator or admin staff I am concerned. I have checked permissions and he is getting them from regular members. Most other regular members can not view the moderation centre.

He is in a post based membersgroup with the highest number of posts. I checked out some of the others in this group and they can see the moderation menu too.

My only other thought is he is a moderator of 1 board. Could his permission on that board get him into the moderation centre ?

Yes, added as a moderator gives some access to moderation centre

Thanks for that. Im learning some lesson this week. Ive exposed my admin board to the whole forum (Whooops) and now some members can see the mod center.

Need a bit of a rethink. Thanks for your help.

Is this issue resolved now? If so, you may mark it as solved.
