Does it work the same way?

I don't know about this site but we offer a large set of option .
Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: sheryltoo on February 23, 2009, 04:55:46 PM
I just added it to my test site so I could try it out.
It works nice but I wasn't quite sure what all the different options were for as far as the urls connected to these options.
I used the "direct link to image "and copied it into the insert image pop up and it showed up in my message.
However, it ends up giving the image a white background. Is there a different option that would keep a transparent gif, transparent?

I see what happens. When I upload an image from my computer and hit "process now," it turns into a jpg.
Is there a way to prevent that from happening?
Here's a link to the page with the image on it and all the links. Is that what you need?

No i need the link of the page in your forum .
But in theory all image are automatically converted to Jpg in order to preserve the highest quality and best compatibility .

Two suggestions:

1. make admins able to modify what options to be available and what default checkboxex to be applied (like the private one).

2. after uploading insert the bbc code directly into the post textarea instead of leting the poster copy the link and paste it. Ideally is to insert the bbc code where the type cursor is in the text.

I assure you that if you do these changes your mod (and your site) will be much more used!
Oh and please make sure it works to enter the bbc code when the editor is WYSIWYG :)
Thanks!

Hi...
I have modified my page with Advanced image uploader mod.

I found "<span class="smalltext"><br />', $txt['shortcuts'], '</span><br />" in ./Themes/default/Post.template.php

and then

I have added "<iframe src="http://www.xtupload.com/new/iframe.php" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" width="530" height="610"> You must have an iframe-compatable browser to view the xtupload.com upload form.</iframe>;
"
before the above coding.

Now my page is modified with Advanced image uploader and i can able to browse the image, but.......

After clicking the post button, that image is not uploading ,

Plz tell me what i have to do......

Hi there ;
U have to upload the image first using the process now button then chooses the code according to your need , past it in the message area then u can click the post button.

It would also be nice if you could add a feature that doesn't change a gif into a jpg. If someone wants to use this program to upload an animated gif, it will no longer be animated using this program.
I purposely save many of my graphics as transparent gifs because I don't want them to have a background but when the program changes it to a jpg, it's no longer transparent.

Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: gargouri2001 on February 24, 2009, 08:21:52 AM
we will look on this also ,
first we will add a switch on off from the admin , then modular script (each part can be switched on and off alone ,) , then a direct bbc code  insert ,
The only problem with the conversion of all image to jpg need some time to be updated (since we look to the highest quality from additional format) .

After the modification you mention i think it will be a very used mod, but only if the hosting site that you own will not get overwhelmed by pop-up ads or p*rn ads or too many ads.
Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: gargouri2001 on February 24, 2009, 12:23:18 PM
No worry as u can see , there are no ads at all .
Even if the server cost will rise, i may look in minimal advertising in order to cover the fees .
Personally, i hate advertising , I am just developing a good site .
Money is not what I am looking for (i have already enough  ;)).
the only problem is now adult images , i have a load of them uploaded each hours   :-[

The script support 1.1.8 and 2.0 RC  ;)
Note uninstall the old Mod before installing this one .

The Ajaxed upload mod with direct BB code insertion is ready here  ;).
However, I am waiting for some suggestion:
1)  ajaxed upload with code and image preview (no BB code insertion since user has choice between code format). In this case user have a section between different core formats (Forum Thumb + link Large Image !or! Large Image only direct link !or! Thumb Image only direct link   !or! Large Image + link Large Image (largest) ) .
Note in this case using multi-upload the frame size can be pretty large, since we offer an image preview.
(http://www.xtupload.com/new/graphic/images/2009/February/26/8410_49A7119B.jpg).

2) ajaxed upload with code preview only . Better for multi-upload but with 5 images and above the frame size will be also big enough .

3) ajaxed upload with BB code direct insert , here the user has no choice between the different possible image code . In this case What default should be used ?.

Now I need your suggestion to compile the mod and to let it go life .
Next step will be the ajaxed image resize in your forum or the modular upload system :)

If you want to have more admins using this mod you have to go with option 3 and...

What SMF attachment function does is to make a thumbnail and when you click it you will see the hole image. So this is the answer: First option in the list that appears when I upload an image to xtupload. Of course, if it isn't possible that the url to the first option to go to the direct link of the full image (but i think wouldn't be fair for xtupload.com isn't it? :) ).

I only see the checkbox on top. But not the text.

Do you know how to solve this?

Thanks!

some feedback:

- your mod increases a lot reply window, if it was expanded it would be so much better
- most users need resizing of their images
Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: gargouri2001 on March 04, 2009, 05:51:09 AM
what do u suggest to decrease the reply window size , the unit is big and include a load of functions , this why it is big enough .
What do u mean with resizing , :  i have to make the auto BB insert to Thumb+Large imgaes ??
Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: mforum on March 04, 2009, 07:04:28 PM
you can have a line "Advanced Image Uploader", which will expand on click for those that want to use it
imagine 10 recent big posts bellow reply window ....

with resizing i mean to upload a 1024x768 picture which will insert in post at 640x480
Title: Re: Advanced image uploader
Post by: gargouri2001 on March 04, 2009, 07:09:10 PM
It is fairly easy to make such addition, but since usually webmaster will disable the build in image uploader when they use our , I don't think it is a good idea to add the expand function , but if u require it or more people request it , just let me know, and I will add it (for u or for all)

Best regards,

Hi, I cannot run the mod.
I'm running smf v1.1.8 and I've downloaded the mod v1.0.9.
I'm using package manager, and when trying to apply the mod, I enter username and pdw for ftp operation.
I get back the message "550 Failed to change directory. "
I've checked that both username and pwd are correct, and I have not any problem with other ftp clients.
Do you have any suggestion?

Great mod, it looks like it will be very usefull!

One question though, my forum is all dark colors...blacks and dark grays.  Your text in this mod is black and you can hardly see it in my forum, where can I change it.  I haven't been able to find it at all?

Thanks

That's because the form isn't part of the package, it's stored here: http://www.xtupload.com/new/iframe2.php

I've disabled this mod for now because I use a dark theme as well, and the black text on the upload form makes it damn hard to read.

Gargouri, what are the chances of having an option in the control panel to choose between two forms, one for dark themes and one for light themes?

Congratulations on a brilliant mod though, it's a great addition to any forum!

I am using SMF 1.1.8 and uploaded Advanced image uploader 1.0.9.

As soon as i install de mod, i can no longer add topics!
I then get a template error "A problem occured with the template- or languagefile \Themes\default/Post.template.php".

I think it has to do with the fact that it doesn't change these files.

I had the same problem, it's quite easy to change this yourself: The edit is in
/Themes/default/Post.template.php
Or if you use a theme with own Post.template.php you have to go there.
You have to look for this part:

';if (!empty($modSettings['advancedimageuploader_enable']) )

{    ?>

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function interactionCompleted(result)
   //Do something with result

{

document.postmodify.message.value  = document.postmodify.message.value + result ;

}

</script>

<?

       $path=$_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']   ;
       $path=str_replace("index.php","",$path);
echo "<iframe id=\"frame1\" name=\"frame1\" src=\"http://www.xtupload.com/new/iframe2.php?server=".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].$path."\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"630\" height=\"655\" allowtransparency=\"true\"> You must have an iframe-compatable browser to view the xtupload.com upload form.</iframe>";
}            ; echo '

and move it in the Post.template.php where you want it to be.

Be sure to backup your file before changing anything here!

I have put it between:
// Spell check button if the option is enabled.
if ($context['show_spellchecking'])
echo '
<input type="button" value="', $txt['spell_check'], '" tabindex="', $context['tabindex']++, '" onclick="spellCheck(\'postmodify\', \'message\');" />';

echo '
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td align="center" colspan="2">';

and
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
</table>';

the <td align="center" colspan="2">'; used to be <td colspan="2">'; in the original file though.

Hi Gargouri,

I refer to this Watermark: http://www.xtupload.com/new/share-EBBA_49FF75A7.html
It says "DPI" and inserting it is one of the options when uploading a new Image. (One of the Checkboxes).

As I said - if you need a German translation just send me the strings and I will translate them for you - no need for an online translator which are horrible, I agree :)

I like to use your mod to my own hosted filehost script, like xtupload.com use on his server. It's the same open source script

EXCELLENT !

I especially like the feature of inserting the image URL automatically into the post texts.

However, now I have ONLY one feature request: How can I translate/localize the interface of this Mod?

I mean, I am a Chinese SMF user, my forum is in Chinese language. But the uploader interface of this Mod shows only English buttons and texts. How can I make it show a Chinese language interface?

Thanks.

The photo preview future work only in few browsers , it should work in all version in the next release  .

yes he see a preview of the image , the image was big and this forced the module to span over the forum template and hidded the preview and post .

1 )  ask this member to use "alt+s" to submit its post
2 ) i can remove this future for u if u need it .

I noticed the different membership tiers at Xtupload.com. Right now all of them say they cost zero dollars, but I'm a bit worried that at some point, after many people have uploaded thousands of images to the site and become dependent on it, that it might suddenly switch to a pay structure. It would be nice if there was an option to upload to photobucket and imageshack....

One minor problem - when the user does not upload an image, but hits the 'Process Now' button, this is entered in their post:

%3Cdiclass=%22msgbox%22%3ENoilesuploaded!%3C/di%3E%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E

Would it be possible to disable the 'Process Now' button if no picture is selected ? OR  is it possible to put in a check to make sure that the user has selected a picture in the 'Process Now' function ?

Do not install a mod that is not compatible with your SMF version. ;) Unless you know what your doing, otherwise wait for the author of the mod to make it compatible with that SMF version or get permission from him/her to do it yourself.

I've emailed the author with the request to update the mod to 1.1.10 and implent the possibility to connect this mod to a user-account at xtupload.com (so that all SMF-'attachments' will be uploaded in one xtupload-account ....... perhaps he can even make automatic SMFuser-dirs into that account)

Anyway .... there seem to be two 'sites' at xtupload

http://xtupload.com
http://www.xtupload.com/new/

Both sites seems to  have there own user-accounts  ???

However, so far so good ... it seems to be one of the fastest and unlimited image-hosting-providers. I hope it will stay fast and free in the future.

This is a great mod but it ignores the forum auto-resize settings and the giga-pixel brigade will be at it in no time. If a version could be made where the Admin can select the maximum picture size settings it would be perfect.

Yep agree, sizing would be great however the other questions [and I might have missed seeing it elsewhere] can or does this mod allow for a popup window so all users will see the standard board length without the extra area to upload file but like make use of the smilie area or after the message input box allow the selection to upload image and then a popup window with these option are given?

Hi.

I today installed this mod and everything installed fine and working, but i have a little question.

When i upload more then 2 images ( i uploaded 3 images ), When they are posted into the post and submitted.

The first and second images are on the first line, and the third image is posted below them two.

Is it possible to have them all posted into the message as to be on different lines ( under each other )

Screenshot below to show how they posted, can they all be under one another?

JFDR, though, w/o a resize feature we won´t use it, there are just too many users out there that post "***huge*** photos that make reading the fourm w/o sidescrolling impossible.

I and my users really like this mod. It works perfectly and is quick on upload and download. I would like to see some options one should be to allow different positioning without having to manually edit files. I also like the idea of having an option to have it open up like Additional Options.

That brings up a question why is there so much wasted space above the buttons. I understand why there is space at the bottom but not at the top. Is there a way to move it it up closer to Additional Options.

Hi Gargouri,

My images are also gone since yesterday, all we have are red crosses at the moment.
If I want to upload an image the only thing I see is:

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Before the mod worked great, I was realy satisfied with your mod.
I hope you can do something about it, will you please fix it?
The install date of your mod on our forum was 15 september 2009.

Thnks

PS sorry for my bad english.

HI

I just install the mod,

In option i see the check box, but not the text

I have this as well.. not a big deal I guess. However, after I hit proccess it says "The file(s) was uploaded successfully and the BB Code was inserted!"

But no, it didn't insert anything.

Hi Gargouri,

We have used your superb mod for a while. Now we have upgraded tot SMF 2.0 RC2.
Manually adding your mod was not a big problem, but the BCC-code wil not be inserted in the text-box anymore.

Do you still have plans to update your mod ?

Tnx in advange and keep up the good work

Can the author explain how MY CODE shows up in the mod-package?
Quote from: Advancedimageuploader_rem_settings.phpThis script will remove the Simple ImageShack mod settings from the database.

Looks like you used my mod to create this one..... without permission!
What's your explenation?

Rik(c) - You cannot lay claim to a database query that can only be run one way, there really isn't another way to remove items from the database... if you want to try and claim that, then I suppose *you* used other people's code without permission to make your uninstaller.  Perhaps MySQL should come along and lay claim on the database query?

As for the readme file, you've used lots of styles and codes from around the web to compile it yourself, so you can't really lay claim to it either... http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/horizontal15.htm - looks kinda familiar, doesn't it.

Sorry, I won't be taking any action against this mod or mod author.

No, of course not  ;D (but i don't claim the db queries)

It does, but i don't claim the ZDnet navbar css either...

QuoteSorry, I won't be taking any action against this mod or mod author.

My point is that the author didn't even took the time to remove my written TEXT (not talking about the css) or even bothered to write his own readme, he just replaced some (not all) of the words.

For eaxample, here's a line from his package readme....
QuoteThis package will install the 'Advanced Image Uploader On Your Site (tm)' feature on your SMF forum/board. It will work with the default and classic template, and also with all other templates that make use of the 'Post.template.php' file from the default template.

Here's one from an old SIS...

It will work with the default, classic and Babylon template, and also with all other templates that make use of the 'Post.template.php' file from the default template.
looks kinda familiar, doesn't it  ::)

I remember that a few years ago a2h was told by the mod-team that he had to ask me permission before his mod got approved.
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=488
Looks to me this is the same situation.....
But never mind, looks like some of the rules are changed   :-\

* Rik© hopes the author will someday return here and edits his package when he reads this...

Mine has been down for a week or two  :( The members of my forum love it and it is really missed. Is there away to get it back up and running?

My problem is, when uploading images the loadbar from the page gets stucked halfway, and the mod keeps processing (uploading the image) but doesn't upload anymore.
Maybe it isn't the version problem, I've updated my forum to 1.1.11 last monday (23 februari).
