    How do we install a mod
I have downloaded the Global Headers Footers 1.4.1 zip file and uploaded it using BROWSE under MAIN/PACKAGES
i see the files uploaded alright but what do i do next ?


Where is the install button or something similar ?

There would be a button for [ Install ] - if not, are you sure the mod works with your version of SMF? It should say on the mod download page.

Humm right now i'm using version 2, installed this like one week ago.
Can you tell me where is should be ?

I see at the far right of the package, list files and delete

Ahhhh thanks that was the problem.
Guys, make sure you use the second package ! Not the first one at

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

Now i need to find which is one is bugging right ?

You might need to chmod your /Packages/ folder to 755... I can't remember the exact cause of that, but that's one of the things that could be it. Oh, and if there's a /temp/ directory inside /Packages/, delete that too.

Ok i did this and got
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

Also, There is no /temp/ dir either. I then tried 777 and got the same results

Any ideas ?

Is this issue resolved now? Did you try create that temp folder inside Packages and CHMOD the temp folder to 777?
