Looking good Bloc.
looks nice ;)
Beautiful theme, I would love to translate the buttons into Turkish, but your button generator doesn't support Turkish charachter encoding. Can you give me the photoshop templates please? Thanx again for the great again... :)
Very nice. :)
I like it. Nice and peaceful. :)
Looks nice Bloc.
Nice theme!
Very nice :). Reminds me of Lewis Media :P.

Hey Bloc,
That is a great looking theme!!
Is it possible for you to pm me the button set or email it to me? I dont know if you would allow use of it in another theme, but that fits what I have in mind... almost to the tee.
Thanks,
- Jeff

If you just want to use them in a theme on your site, no problem...if its meant to be in a theme you want to share, then its ok also, but I would like a mentioning there. ;)
I any case you could just use the buttons from the theme, they should all be there(I think), although the admin/home/help etc is a different button style(they are in a different folder too.), I did do those too in the same style as the rest.
Thanks all for the positive feedback. :)
Beautiful and very professional. Well done Bloc!

I appreciate it.

a htmlbox for your own html code on top
Where is that kept? And that would be a area for a site menu?
Look in admin - "current theme settings" for a textbox where you can write HTML.
And yes, it can be a menu , or just a image etc. It will magically appear if you have SOMETHING written in that textbox. If not, it won't show up.
At the same time you could choose how the content aligns - left, center or right. That can be done - of course - in your own html code, but if not, the option is there.
Very nice. I'll go add it to the other 80-something themes on my test board in a bit...
Thank you. :)
Just added a button-generator too , at http://www.bloczone.net/button-generator/oxygen.php
Added the Photoshop file (PSD) for those who want to change the top logo, the "sky" part.
See first post for details.
ok where is the sky part, it looks like the psd from the bloc zone tmplate apparently it has those two images at the top...
ehem. Updated again.
A bit of mix-up there. :)
lol it also seems that the numbers under the topics colum and the last post info is smaller than the replies, and other text....
ah, I did not see that! Thanks for the heads-up, I will correct it ASAP.
NOTE:
archive updated, update BoardIndex.template.php only if you want the small change.
Hi,
Thank you for this skin, I like it :-).
It worked on SMF 1.0.4 and I made french buttons with your button generator (the one for Oxygen of course) but I prefer the buttons with coloured icons, can you change this on the generator ?
Anyway, here are the translated buttons (http://hihi.killix.org/oxygen_french.tar.gz) ;).
Thank you, Roman2K. Colored icons? I will see if i can make an extra option for it.
Yes I mean the buttons in the "New Folder" directory of Themes/oxygen/images/english
And can you bring us the PSD of the buttons under the banner : HOME, HELP, SEARCH... ?
Thank you :).

1.0.4 update?
It should work fine on 1.0.4 too.
Excellent theme, this could be perfect for what I`m looking for. I would like to replace the logo with one long banner of my own, how would I do this? Is the background underneath the logo white? Also is is possible to increase the forum width a little more than the default width?
Thankyou.
Very nice theme. I was wondering if i could use this theme as a template to one of my own. (Would you --the author-- mind?) I would give you full credit of course. (I would NOT remove any headers, comments, etc.)
As a base its perfectly alright...if you plan to just use it on your own site, feel free to adjust in any way you wish. :) If you want to give it out public, its still alright..although I would appreciate a note saying what it was based on.
very nice theme indeed! i love every single part of it... never doubted to have it as my theme.. www.borongan.net
mr. Bloc, i have a problem on the shoutbox, it appears on top.. can you help me to have it placed on the left side corner?
and, how can I replace the banner?
help will be greatly appreciated..
Very cool theme :)
Id like to add a few extra buttons in the same style with the top menu (home,help,search etc one ) but having some trouble with it.
Any help would be great :)

Bloc, the demo link for this theme is also screwed up :P.
yeah..updated all now. :)
seems to be missing these 2 icon files in the zip file
buddy_useron.gif
buddy_useroff.gif
I use firefox and it just shows the text(online or offline) so I thought that was how it was but had to use IE for a rare reason and noticed the red x`s for missing icons... I re-downloaded the file and its definatly not there..
Thanks, I will update the archive. Its the same as default theme, so you can just copy over those if you like.
How can I make the forum wider, so there is less of the dark grey background showing? I wanted a smaller margin all around.
Thankyou.
I tried adjusting the margin size in the template index file, but the forum just ends up migrating to the left!
It never seems to want to expand to the right. Like something is blocking the way! The forum width is set at 100%, so it cannot go any wider. I assume this is something in the margin or padding?
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y61/maritimesbob/Image1.gif
its an extra <td> that holds the "shadow" part to the right of the forum. You need to locate that in index.template.php and erase it.
echo '<td rowspan="2" valign="top" style="border: 0px; background-image: url('.$settings['images_url'].'/mythemestop.gif); background-repeat: repeat-y;"><img alt="*" src="'.$settings['images_url'].'/mythemetop.gif" style="margin: 0px;" /></td>';
Keep getting this error:
QuoteAn Error Has Occurred!

I'm usin 1.0.5, tried re-installing a couple of times without luck :(
I get that error in topic view by the way.

Greets!
It seems there has been some changes since RC2.. and themes not created for RC2 gets a little messed up.. there's one thing that's not so nice.. all links that are images (for example when posting) have a border around them.. :-/ could you update the theme perhaps?
edit: well.. I did some checking and stuff.. now there are no borders around linked images in opera.. but still in firefox (dont know with IE).. I added "a img { border: 0; }" to styles.css
/ Taz
I will update the theme shortly and solve that problem.
also there is a line border around the emoticons in the post tab (while you are posting) but if you have more emoticons (in the pop up window) it shows those ones fine
For those that are looking to update a theme this is useful:

i tried it replacing what is mentioned there the only thing that i could get at the end was error. I prefer to wait for someone who knows better than i do ;)
i just did this add in style.css and the border lines from the emoticons disapear :D
Code: (Add Anywhere)
/* No image should have a border when linked */
a img
{
border: 0;
}
maybe it will help you taz

Hi Bloc, this theme is fantastic.. you are a true artist!
I am trying to integrate it into joomla, so far i have got the style sheets worked out ok, but I cant figure out how to remove the login information..
you know, the box that says stuff like
"Hey, admin, you have 0 messages, 0 are new.
Total time logged in: 5 hours and 43 minutes.
Show unread posts since last visit.
Show new replies to your posts.
January 24, 2006, 11:04:11 PM"
As I am logging in from Joomla via the smf-joomla bridge component and module.
I would also like to remove or alter the help link as this diverts traffic away from the site and the logout button as the smf-joomla bridge does this for me.
Could you or anyone give me any assistance please?
Thanks
Kev

Try open index.template.php and change the extension of that name to .png. Then just upload your png file into same folder as the original logo.
OK I have time ;)
Hi, I also couldn't find a way to replace the logo without replacing the mytheme.jpg file.
I want to link the logo to another URL,
I've checked the index.template.php file, but ould only find reference to mythemetop.gif, and mythemestop.gif.
Anyone have any ideas?

I can't find it in the index.template.php. This is in the header section:
Quote// The logo and the three info boxes
echo '
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" align="center" width="100%" style="background-color: #FFFFFF;">';
if(isset($settings['topbox']) && !empty($settings['topbox'])){
echo ' <tr>
<td valign="top" style="border: solid 1px #a0a0a0; border-bottom: 0px;">'.$settings['topbox'].'</td>';
echo '<td valign="top" style="border: 0px; background-image: url('.$settings['images_url'].'/mythemestop.gif); background-repeat: repeat-y;"><img alt="*" src="'.$settings['images_url'].'/mythemetop.gif" style="margin: 0px;" /></td>';
echo '

}

I'm trying to add the location field to posts and the threads about it reference "Display.template.php" which doesn't seem to be present in Oxygen.

So I searched for the "insert before" string in the Oxygen files and wasn't able to find it. Any ideas on how I can add this to Oxygen?
Thanks!
If you haven't a specific template in any theme, it will just fallback on the default theme. So if default theme works, so will other themes that fallback on it.
Bit of a silly question - will this work in SMF 1.0.6?
Yes. All 1.0.5 themes work fine in 1.0.6. :)
A big thanks.......... this theme is vary clean.
I would like to change the header image and it's hight. I know how to swap out the image but where do i reset the hight ? it would also be nice if I could link that header image back to my home page.
thanks again

Seems your language files needs updating. Those are indexes for text strings that describe the settings in Settings.template.
How can I add buttons to the menu? I tried your button generator and other things but it didn't work.
No, Oxygen use a scheme of background images that shift when you hover over them. The generator only creates the other buttons, not the main ones. But I can make you those you need. What texts do you want?
I am loving this theme already, just a couple of dumb questions - sorry if they are repeated...
could I please be informed as to how I can make the Googlebot mod visible, also, users online today mod - I am not entirely certain how to do it
I am not 100% into what they modifies in the files..but it should be more or less the same to adjust Oxygen as the default theme. Try to look over the description/help files in them, and see how far you get.

Thank you but i already have the buttons. I need to find out how to actually add them to my website. I'm not sure if I should put "bbshop" or something like that.
You need that..and also a similar entry in the stylesheet. Or else the buttons will not "move" or show at all.
I would like to request an ARCADE button for this theme please.

i want to Turkish Buttons for Oxygen 1.1RC2. How can take thems? plz helpp me..
We just installed a number of language packs. While the css for the rollovers is quite reasonably "float", the index template seems to require a length measurement 2 px wider than the rollover graphic or it cuts off the right edge of the rolloever view. I don't see how this will work with the different words for the same buttons. Can one have a language-specific index template? Or is there a way to get "float" into the index template, so each button can take up as much room as it needs in each language?
As for making buttons: I found a very light button back I liked and used Gil Sans Light, all caps with a 50% spread. Since the type was sharper than the original and the button back more pleasing, I replaced all of them. The type has to be exactly aligned with the original two, and if you have Safari users, you should increase the overall size of the rollover graphic to 60 px with space at the bottom colored with the background color. Otherwise, the top of the rollover shows even when not in hover mode.
Its really 2 things to change - the width of the graphic, and the corresponding css class. If you look at those in style.css : bbhelp, bbsearch etc. they have different widths, same as the buttons. So just make your new buttons, expand or shrink the width if you need..and add that new width in the css. The length is the same always of course.
There is no width given in css, and the buttons are hard coded to the "english" directory:
#bbhelp
{
background-image: url(images/english/back/help.gif);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position:0 -24px;
border-width:0;
position: relative;
float: left;
index.template.php, however, does gives a width for the button:
<div id="bbhelp" '.$mycode.'><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=help"><img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/blank.gif" alt="' . $txt[119] . '" style="margin: 0px; width: 36px; height: 24px;" border="0" /></a></div>';
As far as I can tell, this width has to change depending on the width of the rollover graphic. For instance, German "SPIELHALLE" is going to be wider than English "ARCADE", and the right end of the German button will be cut off unless I change this measurement. Since only one measurement can be given in index.template.php, I don't see how I can use other languages. Am I missing something here? I'm just learning this stuff, so it might be something painfully obvious.
And since I've got you on the line — I left a question a week ago at TP — we also want to get the RC2 tab/icon+text buttons into Oxygen for the rest of the buttons — for a similar reason: all the languages we've installed. I've already got the slices ready to go, but don't want the theme to explode if I put in the wrong code (even if we do have a test site...)
ah, yes. i am sorry..of course its the index.template widths are located in. ::) Just change them according to the graphic.
The other question: you mean to have the buttons in language folders?
Quote from: Bloc on May 01, 2006, 04:22:28 AM

By analogy, they would be in a folder "back" in the individual language's image folder, since that's where they are in "english". The problem is being able to have only one width given in index.template.php because the graphics are different widths for the various languages.
Yes..thats why it was made with just english - so people could exchange the head graphics there from other languages. But multiple languages will "break" this.

So what you are saying is that it's impossible to use multiple languages with this theme and no way to code for such a situation? I suppose we could trash the whole rollover idea and just use gif's with the nice display font, but the rollover is rather distinctive.
What about the tabs/text w/icon buttons as in RC2 default for the rest of the buttons so that multiple languages can be used?
no, not impossible..but you need to re-write parts of the code.

I am afraid I won't be re-writing it that much at this time.

I figured out the problem. I needed to upgrade to the more recent version of the theme.
hey everyone...
at first button generator doesn't support any of Turkish characters.. like [ŞşĞğÜüİıÖöÇç] (or maybe font doesnt)
also
can i ask for PSD's of Top Menu ? i want to translate them into Turkish. or Font may be enough.. but PSD's are better...
Thnx.
