There doesn't seem to be an "ignore boards" mod that works available on the site. Can someone help me out?

Or, if there is a way I can make certain boards' topics not appear on the simple portal's list of "recent posts" that would be great too.

There is not option for that.

The "Ignore Boards" mod is appearing in my packages list, but its status never changes from "apply mod" even when I click that. So I don't know what's going on there.

Last time I rebuilt my site I found the mod for ignore boards here was a little old and I had to do some of the changes manually. It could be updated now but I haven't looked in a while.

Ignore boards is a default feature in 2.0.

There is this (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=137) mod for 1.1 RC1 which will probably need some changes to work correctly on the current 1.1.x series.
