An excellent example of how problems are only problems if there's more than one thing wrong...
Long story short, I (in my young male arrogance) decided to uninstall a mod, even if it would not uninstall correctly. This broke a reference or syntax or sometin in one of the source files, thus breaking my forums until this is fixed... error until then.
No problem. Should take a few minutes of noodlin in a text editor, at most. Except that, 1) Obviously if I can't access my forums, I can't access SMF File Manager for editing php files from the website, 2) FTP pw was recently changed due to an infection concern, 3) The person who changed the pw is unable to be reached
So, to sum up... I'm unable to access forums because of php error, and I'm unable to access files by ftp. I do have administrator account/password, database username/password, and phpMyAdmin access. Is there any way I can solve this problem (either by resetting ftp pw, or somehow editing the file without ftp, or something else I haven't thought of)?
No, I'm afraid I don't
I believe it was a line in my subs.php when I went to remove...hrm... don't remember mod specifically, but that's not entirely relevant anyway
No workaround where I could possibly somehow access the site in a way that doesnt load the broken subs.php, or somethin along those lines? :\ Ah well... SOL is SOL. Guess I'll wait and see how long it takes host to show back up
