Title: Changing the information the profile page asks.
Post by: celestia. on July 13, 2009, 08:12:36 AM
I'm trying to change the information the profile page asks, if there is a similar thread, i'd love to be directed to it.

I just want to know where to change the follow (along with their descriptions) from
ICQ:
AIM:
MSN:
YIM:
Email: [email protected]
Website:
Current Status:

to

some other things... such as, 'Facebook', 'Portfolio',  'Interests', etc

So, which file should I be looking at? I'm only wanting to change the actual words, hopefully that doesn't require extra information.

I take it that you are using SMF 1.1.X? As 2.0 already offers this feature, however I am trying to follow this up for another thing, but this feature will be included. Sorry, I don't know how to do it off by heart, but there are Tips/Tricks for this, such as:

You can add new profile fields using this mod in SMF 1.1 versions:

It is a built-in feature in SMF 2.0 versions, named as Advanced Profile Fields. You can find it under Core Features area in Admin CP.

I'm using 1.1.9
I'm only aware of adding new profile fields and was under the impression this is what the advanced profile fields did. Do they also allow the altering of preexisting profile fields too?
