Hello, I'm new and had just installed the SMF 2.0RC1-2. Although everything works fine, I'm getting some strange characters. The picture below will better describe what I'm seeing. That's how it looks like in FF. It IE, they are just boxes. I also did a search on the forum and didn't find anything. Thanks in advance.

Can we have a link to your forum, aswell the name of the theme your using.
Haven't launch the site yet. Still on local apache server. I now tested out on other themes that was provided with the SMF package and it was fine. The ECM theme (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1799) that I downloaded only have these characters. It seems to use some weird characters that my server can't read as the directory structure.
Ask in the Theme's support / comment thread :)
