Title: Some users unable to see SMF Buttons & smileys
Post by: Carver on April 07, 2005, 11:59:37 AM
Some of my users are reporting that they are getting
QuoteForbidden
You don't have permission to access /nabs2/community/Smileys/classic/tonguenew15.gif on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

For all images ( buttons, Smileys,  etc ) for the forum. They are showing up as the dreaded red "X"..

Any ideas what would cause this? The problem has just started and these members did not have this problem a week ago.

anything I can do to fix it ?
Thanks
Curt

Can you please post a link to the forum?

Same problem here. The paths are correct in the settings, but the smileys don't appear. I looked at the path in the page source code and see the problem, but don't know where the problem is in the SMF code. The path is like this:

www.mywebsite.com/Smileys/default/grin.gif

when it should be this:

www.mywebsite.com/support-group/Smileys/default/grin.gif

The path is correct in my settings. Could it have to do with the fact that my forum subdirectory uses a hyphenated name?

What is repair_settings.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18096.0)

Make sure the path and URL is correct there.  It should most likely be the recommended value.
