Title: Sticky Topic Ordering
Post by: Altair on August 10, 2009, 11:35:11 PM
Looking through this forum with the search function, I notice that a lot of people have made use of the "Order Sticky Topics" Mod.

Now, my question is... why isn't something like this in SMF 2.0? I mean, if you're going to have stickies, then you may as well have a way to put them in order by default.

It might just be me, but I figured such a feature would be implemented by now.

There are many functions people believe should be core features, but that's why we have Modifications.
Simple is a primary attribute of this software, and the team keep this in mind.
What may seem fundamental to one person, may not be for another, so the option is(or could be) available via the Modification section.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Sticky has only ever guaranteed that stickied topics sit above the rest, ordering is still (for performance as well as other things) in order of date.

But yeah, what they said.
