I also need this mod, please make it SMF 1.1.8 comaptible. A settings page will make it more customizable.
SMF 1.1.8 should be upgraded ASAP to 1.1.10 due to a security hole that allows a hacker to insert arbitrary code into your server.
In any case, please clarify what the requirements are.
A word minimum, or maximum, or both? How are you classing a word, e.g. is a post of 'a a a a a a' a post of 6 words each of one letter or not? Is 'it's' one word or two? What about hyphenated words? Numbers?
I think it's much easier to set this up using a minimum and maximum CHARACTERS, not words.
I'm still using SMF 1.1.8 because of some mods which are not compatible with the newer smf versions.
Maximum characters is easy. It's already there.
Upgrade to 1.1.10. Most mods are still compatible, and for the ones that aren't... we can show you how to make them work anyway. I should warn you again. The hack that 1.1.8 is vulnerable too allows an external user access not only to your forum but every other thing in your account. We have seen it consume entire servers too.

Anyway, now I really need to upgrade. My forum's main feature is AD REVENUE SHARING but the mod is not compatible with SMF 1.1.10. Do you know how to make this compatible with 1.1.10?..=(
I'm not going to answer that here - it's totally off topic. Please ask in the mod's own thread first of all - then ask in the support boards. You will also find answers by searching for 'version_emulate' which allows the package manager to pretend to be other versions.

It's for a specific section of the forum, my forum is primarily role-playing but I'm creating somewhere for the literates. The absolute minimum is 1500 but the recommended minimum is 3000 words. I'm not really expecting much activity there ^_^
Arantor: I'd prefer that single letters and two letters be discounted from the count, but in the effort to make it easier, I'd accept them. Numbers, I'd also prefer to exclude from the count but again, if it's easier to include them, please go ahead and do so.
Hyphenated would count as two words because I'm expecting that excluding hyphens from the count will also be easier.
That all sounds quite reasonable. I'll see what I can do - it might be a few days due to real life stuff going on though.

That would require tracking board+usergroup, which is very complex since there's nowhere in the system to actually record that directly.
