Title: Question about running smf in a wrapper
Post by: higherauthority on October 04, 2009, 03:04:41 PM
I was wondering if you can run smf in a wrapper in mambo instead of using the bridge.

I have no need to sync users I just would like to get smf to appear integrated and have the mambo menu at the top so it appears as if they are still on the site.     Mambo will have separate users for management purposes.   I wish to keep the database for SMF and Mambo separate.

Is this a bad idea?

Would you recommend using a bridge?

Is anyone else successful in using a wrapper?

I apologize if this is the wrong section.  Mods please move if it is.

bad idea.

the mambo wrapper uses an iframe...    this can lead to lots of problems with sessions.

Thanks Kindred for saving me tons of headaches.

I'm Building a test site using SMF 2.0 and Mambo 4.6.5     I will use the bridge.

I believe you can set SMF members to be unregistered guests in Mambo in the bridge Group Synch tab.
