Title: Whole forum inop overnight
Post by: PPowerHouseK on December 19, 2009, 10:50:17 AM
Hello all,

Just like the title states, I woke up this morning to check on my forums, only to see the following two errors on a white screen: Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in D:\Hosting\5332057\html\pksforums\cache\data_213b7f93e98102c25c6c6b7a9d004542-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':' in D:\Hosting\5332057\html\pksforums\cache\data_213b7f93e98102c25c6c6b7a9d004542-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

I am running SMF 2.0 RC2. Everything was working perfectly last night, and I did not edit or add anything.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same exact thing happen to me while I was sleeping. What you need to do is delete that file in cache which is giving the error. Or alternatively delete ALL the files in cache.

Now how to make sure this won't happen again?

I have no idea.

Do you require any further assistance with this?
