Greetings!
If you run a search for DokuWiki (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=search2;search=dokuwiki;brd=33), you will find a few, more or less outdated threads.
So, whats going on?
It is possible to use Mambo-CMS to merge SMF and DokuWiki. Finally, this could be a solution, but not everybody is interested in running a complete CMS only to merge other software.
It is possible to use MediaWiki instead. There is a working bridge.
Well, maybe MediaWiki is much to bloated if an admin only want to offer a "small" bunch of (editable) Information and run SMF as the main-software.
So, the simple way is missing. No third software to bridge the bridge and an very easy Wiki when it comes to syntax (for Articles and php-code), installation and -as summary- the whole usability.
Now, I have found a possible solution for a bridge and I like to ..
- .. show this solution to an wider audience (especially at the board which is involved but missing latest information)
- .. beg for the interest of some code-Gurus who are interested to keep this project alive.
On the DokuWiki page you will find this thread:
SMF Auth Module! (http://forum.dokuwiki.org/thread/2161;?unb855sess=f652bb40cc2507da19a39b619e3068a4)
This leads to a blog with a complete "how to use" -description:
http://blog.ich-wars-nicht.ch/2009/09/integrate-dokuwiki-with-smf/
So, this is it. Summary of the latest points in history of SMF-DokuWiki-bridge which hopefully initiate a further development.
Good to see the work is continuing. DokuWiki was always my favourite wiki.
