When a new member joins the email to the moderator should have more info then just a link. You cannot scan the emails for name, etc.
There are an a lot of spammers coming in no matter what I do and it would be better to have some usefull info in the email.
That's odd. Mine gives the name, as well as the link.
Still, everything you need's in their profile, so how hard can it be just to click the link and look at it?
Yes I do see their user name now but since I have been spending more and more time on deleting spam and banning spammers I wanted a little more so that I can search my emails or see more of their info. Since we have a relatively closed communitity (just for our products) we can notice spammers by their email domain names (sometimes).
There are plenty of anti-Spam mods. Why not try one?
If you have all new registrations set to "By approval", wouldn't that stop them?
I have registration set, like that, and have no anti-Spam mods and I don't get ANY Spam.
Our forum has just been up for about a week and just getting use to it.
Do you recommend any and where to I find them?
Try the mod site.

Do a search for "Spam" and you'll see loads to choose from.
